Why this must be read: I have such a soft spot for backstory, and it's so interesting to read about Ray and Irene's teenage romance. I'd have loved to see Irene's POV of it, as well, but I do appreciate what the fic is doing by giving us alternating POV:s of Ray in the past, with Irene, and Ray in the present, with Fraser, which makes for some interesting contrasts. And I love what we see of Irene through Ray's eyes.
