Why this must be read: This is a post-Call of the Wild Fraser/Kowalski story written just a few months ago, and it is just perfection. There is pining and aching and boys being dumb and self-discovery and awkwardness and hot sex and a lot of love. Even after 15 years of the fandom producing post-CotW fics, this one feels fresh and raw and beautiful. deputychairman has a brilliant RayK voice, and this RayK has Fraser's number too. A tiny excerpt of Ray musing on Fraser to demonstrate how pitch-perfect the characters in these fics are:
