Why this must be read: One thing that's been glaringly obvious this year (especially during Wimbledon) if you're a fan of the American tennis scene is the void left behind by Andy Roddick. Safe to say that the male American players have not, for various reasons, been able to handle that spotlight. That extends to fandom and no fic feels this way quite like this story, taking place after Andy's last match. Andy knows this is the end but Roger's appearance makes that easier to say than to do. It totally makes sense to me that Roger would have to somehow be involved in the end of Andy's career, complete with leftover angst.
