Why this must be read: I love this one because it is an outside point of view on Joan and Sherlock's living arrangement. A pipe bursts in Marcus Bell's apartment so he lives with Joan and Sherlock for a while and his take on the whole things is hysterical but realistic. It's also a great one because it brings into light all the crap that Joan puts up with at home that no one knew about before. Examples of this are naked Sherlock and random experiments at all hours of the day/night. This also shines a light on how someone so totally domestic (Joan) and live happily with their exact opposite and how sometimes you have no idea what you want until it's gone.
Bell could choose to go to a hotel after the pipe bursts in his building. He would, if he was smart. But no, he has to go and say yes when Joan offers him one of the spare rooms at her and Holmes’s place.
He regrets it almost instantly, but hell, it’s not like he doesn’t like them, and it’s only for a couple of weeks. He’s a cop, he’s worked with some of the nastiest criminals out there, surely he can handle living with a hyperactive Englishman for that long.
