A Leaf Moves is a moving story of Illya’s survival in a Yugoslavian prison and Napoleon’s search for his partner. As she always does, Mlaw combines research of the region and time with an interweaving plot. This time she gives the reader a ride into a nightmare existence that Illya is thrown into. Only the hope that Napoleon wouldn’t give up on him kept him going. A good summary of Mlaw’s story about their partnership come in the words that Napoleon says this time. “I may be later but I’m always there.”
