The Peaceful Vorkosiverse by Bracketyjack (G)
Fandom: LOIS MCMASTER BUJOLD'S MILES VORKOSIGAN SAGA
Pairing: mainly canon pairings, Ivan Vorpatril/OFCs
Length: 262,381 words
Author on LJ:
bracketyjack
Author Website: on AO3
Why this must be read:
This is absolutely one of my favorites in the fandom. It's such a refreshing break to read a series where everything is unrelentingly GOOD. This fandom, in particular, is known for a truly staggering amount of whump perpetrated on the characters, but in this series of stories, the author does the exact opposite and only good things happen.
The writing is superb, with nuanced characterizations and attention to details, including details of minor characters and original characters. The premise is suitably complex and fits into the broader details of LMB's universe like a hand in a glove. The first story starts out with a rogue Terran scientist with a universe-altering new technology coming to Miles, which sets off a chain of events that involves history, politics, and even a little revenge. Excellent, excellent story, I highly recommend it!
