this is the burning of a dream by buffyx (PGish)

Why this really should be read:
One of the reasons I was excited to do recs for the O.C. this month was a chance to note the many many amazing stories inspired by the season finale. This story is a lyrical exploration of Theresa, Ryan's girl next door from Chino. Not the villain or ho she sometimes gets cast as in, well, message boards and forums I prefer to avoid, but a girl trying to make her life work who genuinely cares for Ryan.
buffyx gives great Theresa and Ryan and a wonderful story.
Like: Because in movies, the girl gets the boy in the end, gets to live in the big pretty house with the pretty lawn and live happily-ever-after. The girl doesn’t wind up pregnant and unsure of the father and homeless and alone, alone. Alone.
this is the burning of a dream.
And, if it weren't clear: this story contains spoilers for the season finale of the O.C.
