Why this must be read:

Every now and then you need something sweet. Not saccharine sweet that will rot your teeth and give you diabetes but something that in the end will bring a smile to your face. This is one of those stories. It always leaves me all warm and fuzzy without making me choke on hairballs.

It has John and D'Argo, fighting and stupid plans. It's short and sweet, in all the best ways. The beginning is a little rough, narrative wise, but the author overcomes that quickly. It was written well before S4 appeared so is technically spoiler (although not speculation) free. Can be considered a FutureFic.

Excerpt:

"Are you sure he's coming?" he whispered, trying to speak without breathing. Didn't work any better here than at home, either.

Nearby, a solid shadow shifted beneath what passed locally for a tree. D'Argo's deep voice answered, "Bak'tesh needs the refined Krylium we're offering in trade. He'll be here."

In the valley below, an explosion ripped the front and half the roof off a building in the center of town, lighting the surroundings in shades of yellow and orange. Crichton flinched, swearing softly.

"You'd think he might have warned us there was a war going on before he invited us down to meet him."

"He did." D'Argo shifted again. Crichton heard a grunt and a hiss of fabric, followed quickly by the clatter of something hitting a nearby tree trunk. "Why do you think we came down in Lo'La instead of a shuttle pod?"

"Thought you just had a thing about driving."

"Shhh."
