Why this must be read: Have you ever felt like you were marching towards your destiny? That there was something out there waiting for you, just around the corner, but you didn't know what? In November 1966, a young Ken Hutchinson doesn't know this yet. All he knows is that he's in first semester at med school in Minnesota, he's got a great future ahead of him as a doctor and with a loving wife by his side, and his best friend Rick makes life at college bearable. And then everything starts unravelling. His girlfriend breaks his heart, his best friend isn't who Ken thought he was, and a young man is caught in the middle of a darkness he doesn't understand how to escape. But in his dreams everything is perfect, in his dreams he's whole and with someone who loves him, in his dreams he's someone else. An old man helps reveal his destiny, the prophecy that was laid out for him long ago, and Ken slowly begins to realize that his destiny lies with a man who would lay down his life for him, half-way across the country. He may not remember it, but his future is already etched in his soul and he's just waiting until the other half can join him.

The first time I read this story, I was mad because Hutch didn't remember anything after he left. But then I realized that it doesn't matter. All the pain he goes through, all the journeys he takes, it's leading him to Starsky and that's what matters.

There's just something about a story that is pre-SR, post-SR, and pre-series all at the same time:) It's really a cool story.
