This fic features Ryan in a juvenile hall jumpsuit, an idea that pretty much sells itself. The fact that it is also well-written, intelligent, and thoughtful is a welcome bonus. After Ryan and Seth are caught trespassing in a stupid, adolescent prank, Ryan pays the price by being hauled away to juvie. The aftermath of this situation tests his relationships with the entire Cohen family: Sandy, Kirsten, and Seth. The Ryan in this fic is such a teenager; he's moody, he makes rash decisions, and at heart he's just looking for stability and support. At 16 chapters long, this fic takes the time to explore realistically the fact that Ryan's upbringing causes him to make some really bad choices, and the lessons that he and the Cohens learn from them.
