End Game by Manna (G)
Fandom:BLAKES7
Pairing:Anna/Avon, Anna-Another (UST)

Why this must be read:
"Countdown": profound exploration of beloved character, in a way that Explains A Lot, or Huge Honkin' Retcon? For a character who appeared in only one episode (and, unlike Firefly's Saffron, was most unlikely to make a return appearance) Anna Grant has had an immense impact on fanwriting--if only by making life more difficult for doctrinaire slashers.
In this very short story, Manna in effect re-directs perceptions of Anna much as "Countdown" re-channels perceptions of Avon. If I tell you that it includes the secret agent who made the mistake of falling love, and who let him go, you might be inclined to say, "Oh, yeah, THAT again"--until of course you read the story and see the perfectly logical and perfectly unexpected context.
