“Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” by the Old Briar Pipe (PG)
Fandom: SHERLOCK HOLMES
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Briarbrae
Why this must be read:
I had hoped to find a good ghost story for Halloween. This story (which was inspired by the Granada Television version of “The Devil’s Foot”) may not have any literal spectres, but that doesn’t keep Holmes from feeling haunted.

Why this must be read:
Holmes was startled to see something running down his forehead, reflected in the window. He cried out and put his hand up to wipe it away, but found the skin smooth and dry. Upon peering more closely, he saw that it was just the rain on his reflection, nothing more. Certainly not blood.
