What's in a name? by NemesisStrife (PG-13)
Fandom: POTC
Pairing: Sparrington

Author Website: Here.
Why this must be read:
This is a short little fic that questions the common pairing convention of Jack/Norrington, which this fic most emphatically is not. It is, however, Sparrington, and very sweet Sparrington at that. Curious?
Jack, however much he tried, simply could not bring himself to like Norrington.
Oh, he confessed to having quite a profound respect for Norrington, but in the same way that one carries for a lion. Awe and open recognition of its grandeur and majesty, but unwilling to venture within reach of his claws and teeth.
Or rather, within reach of the pistol, Dauntless' cannons, razor-sharp Turner blade to go with equally cutting wit.
Respect, distant admiration, perhaps even a touch of fear for the Commodore, Scourge of the Caribbean, Feared Pirate Hunter, Pride of His Majesty’s Navy. Yes. That was the extent of his feelings for Norrington – wariness, grudging respect, caution, with a dash of one-upmanship competitive rivalry thrown in to make things interesting.
Admiration, so long as he was safely ensconced on the deck of the Pearl, with the whole wide ocean (and perhaps half a continent, if possible) in between them.
He only respected Norrington, nothing more.
But he loved James.
Or why not read the fic? What's in a name?
