Why this must be read:
Whenever I need a pick-me-up, I read this story. I admit, I’m a huge fan of m-preg. But even if you’re not, this story will win you over. First of all, it’s absolutely hilarious. It’s alien!Clark at his finest with strange hormonal urges and strange anatomy. Lex is basically overwhelmed by SuperHorny!Clark (not that he puts up much resistance), and eventually Clark gets knocked up. Jonathan and Martha’s reactions are priceless. Laugh-out-loud funny stuff here when Toby gives Clark an ultrasound:
"Fuck me," he said. "There's a baby in there."
...
"It's not very far along I'd say, but it's got a steady heartbeat." He shook his head, his wispy grey hair flying. "I'm not going to ask how it got in there."
"Don't." Martha agreed. "Can you print that picture?" She asked.
Toby did.
Much to Clark's horror, his mother pinned it up on the refrigerator.
Lex’s reaction to learning he’s a father is also wonderful to observe; he becomes very protective and supportive. My favorite part of the story is actually the epilogue, where we get to see Clark and Lex’s daughter as a young woman. We also see that Clark and Lex managed to stay together through the years, even though their family faces unique challenges. This is one my favorite SV fics—if the title alone doesn’t get you, then the wit, humor, and sheer fun of it will.
