Due South/Man from U.N.C.L.E./Stargate SG-1 (PG-13)

Fandom: Due South/Man from U.N.C.L.E. - set in the Stargate SG1 universe
Pairing: Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski, Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] princessgolux
Author Website: Not a mere Device

Why this must be read:

I have a confession to make: my knowledge of Due South canon is poor. I've seen the bloopers where the lead actors pretended to have sex against a wall, saw a couple of eps that made me laugh...and that's it.

But as a MfU fan, I found the Kowalski in this story hilarious.

We find him with critical abdominal injuries, facing certain death, and his immediate concern is his nether regions. My kind of hero. For a man who must be in excruciating agony, Kowalski's rambling thoughts on Fraser, his physical condition, and the annoyed Russian who saved them is an absolute riot. However, Illya isn't quite what he seems - and his reluctant offer to save Kowalski comes with a high price and a new life purpose. Fraser is none too happy about it.

This story is more Due South than MfU, but there's something charming about Napoleon and Illya offering guidance to a new generation of crime fighters. And although there is a note about it being part of a series, this story is complete in itself.

N.B. Napoleon's voice is in bold. And well, he's not quite the flesh-and-blood person we remember. But he makes his presence felt anyway - he always was larger than life.
