Why this must be read: Recently on “The O.C” there has been a development of a relationship between two female characters – Marissa and Alex. The relationship was shown in canon as beginning very slowly. One week they’re hanging out every day, the next they’re figuring out how they feel and then finally they kiss.

This story explores a number of different kisses between the pair, giving the reader a little insight into each of their feelings for one another. The kisses are sweet, rough and most of all interesting. I’ve become enamored by the pair believing that Alex is the best person for Marissa to be with despite sexuality. The writer really brings to life the moments we don’t see.

Their fiercest kiss is at the Bait Shop. They're listening to -- to -- to someone, and they're singing, and Marissa's getting increasingly giggly with each drink, and she'd feel stupid if she didn't know Alex was matching her glass for glass. In fact, Alex might've had more. But the kiss, right, Alex is leading her up the spiraling steps, saying something about the view of the lead singer's boner from an bird's-eye perspective, and Marissa realizes that she doesn't care about any guy at that moment, so she grabs Alex's shoulder, spins her around, and presses her to the railing, crashing their mouths together. Alex smells like tequila and sweat and some kind of spicy bodywash, and Marissa can tell she's surprised, but she doesn't pull away.

Once the teenage guys start cheering, though, Marissa backs up, stumbling into someone behind her, feeling more hazy than she did after her third screwdriver. Alex smiles at her.

"I do have an office," she says.

And Marissa lets herself be led away once again, this time down the stairs and around the stage and towards the little dark room away from all the crowd, and Alex laughs, and Marissa does, too.

Oh yay! I have been even more rabidly following the O.C. since Marrisa and Alex's relationship has started developing, and am so pleased to see good fanfiction being written about them already! Thanks for the rec!
