Like swing music itself, this story is hot, it's cool and above all very, very sexy. There's no plot to speak of really, just a rhythm and tone that's electric in nature. As evident from the opening lines, Kelly is a master at creating imagery and mood from carefully selected details. This story can make even the most devout skeptic (or devotee to a different pairing) a believer in J/P.

I just have to reply and say, oh my god, this was the first Janeway/Paris fic I ever read, all those years ago, and I STILL have it printed out to re-read from time to time.

That's an amazing story :) Thanks very much for the rec, and indeed for all the Voyager recs..I'd forgotten how much I loved this show till I thought of checking by crack_van to see what was up this month. So yes, thank you. I'm having *lots* of fun exploring all the fic out there.
