I hope you've enjoyed the Voyager recs, I had a lot of fun doing them. Didn't get in as much Doctor/Seven as I wanted, but that'll have to wait until the next time my turn comes up on the small fandom list! If you're in need of a Voyager fic kick, I recommend trekiverse.org, they have a lot of stuff there, and of course, check out the previous Voyager recs in the memories section! If a link is dead, try archive.org, works like a charm most of the time. I would like to just mention the following few fics, since they were recced before they didn't deserve their own entry, but really, they're too awesome: Revisionist History by Penny Proctor and Quid Pro Quo by Jamelia ( alt link) - Paris/Torres/Tuvok and thus obviously Pon farr. Nuff said. Also, don't forget about the official Voyager novels. They're quite enjoyable! And a special extra that didn't quite qualify for Fanvid rec day: The Frasier and Voyager crossover. MY GOD THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER. If you haven't seen both shows though, then maybe just funny, not the funniest thing ever. So this is the last rec for the month. Last, but not least, it's a big one. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Paris/Torres, Tuvok/T'Pel, Kim/Seven Length: series Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: n/a Why this must be read: Two full virtual seasons of Voyager. I haven't read everything yet, but from what I have read so far, they're well written and interesting and full of plot. It starts right after Endgame, and what's nice is that this is NOT part of the Voyager-gets-home genre, even though they do get home eventually. There are new enemies, Section 31 even gets to show up, and new missions. There's a good 40+ episodes, so you'll have a lot of reading. I wish I had found this site years ago, darnit. Enjoy!! Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Paris/Torres Length: 7,611 words Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Mizvoy's Star Trek FanficWhy this must be read: Really cute story about, like the title says, things that go bump in the night. Paris and Torres' daughter keeps on getting woken up by bumps. They happen to share a wall with Chakotay's cabin...wonder what's going on over there? Paris absolutely has to know! Things That Go Bump in the Night

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres Length: long Author on LJ: seperisAuthor Website: Illuminated TextWhy this must be read: Tom and the Captain are kidnapped and tortured. While Tom lays dying in sickbay, B'Elanna and Seven search for a way to cure him, while the rest of the crew deals with other problems, and if the solutions include disobeying direct orders, Borg nanoprobes, mind links and the Prime Directive, so be it. Raw, gritty and intense, this story is a sequel to a fic already recced here and strongly recommended, In the Space of Seven Days, but can also be read as a stand alone. Absolute Zero

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay Length: short Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Sometimes AugustWhy this must be read: Raw and intense snippet from the Year of Hell. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres, Janeway/Chakotay, Kim/Other, Length: long Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: none Why this must be read: Another Voyager-gets-home fic. So sue me, I love the genre. Takes place immediately post Endgame. Covers large cast of characters, has Janeway sap, Mrs. Paris, Professor Chapman!!!!, Harry proving that he's not dead, the Voyager museum dedication, the explanation behind the Doctor's name, a wedding and other fun stuff. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Wildman/Carey, Wildman/Greskrendtregk, Carey/Sarah Carey Length: medium Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Imagery AcresWhy this must be read: This fic deals with crewmembers on Voyager who have left their spouses behind and are trying to be faithful to them, but have fallen in love with another person. Specifically, crewmembers like Samantha Wildman and Joe Carey. Spiletta does a great job capturing the desires, fears and longings of these two, and the complexities of their relationship. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres Length: long Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Trekgirl's Fan FictionsWhy this must be read: Wonderful S6 fic, mainly dealing with Tom and B'Elanna, but also incorporates the Equinox crewmembers as they attempt to integrate into Voyager. Tom and B'Elanna work on their relationship, and Tom and Chakotay 'bond' - it gets really intense. Love the Tom and Chakotay scenes, I would have loved to see them on screen. Inner Landscape

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Doctor/Seven, Paris/Torres, various others Length: 26,582 words Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Imagery AcresWhy this must be read: This is a really fascinating AU fic based on the episodes Demon and Course: Oblivion. What if the Doctor had been able to stabilize the crew and prevent their decomposition? Would they ever get home? Would they ever meet up with the original crew? Witty and interesting and features a large cast of characters. Gotta love the Doctor, I think the author did a great job with him. Eclipsed

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Burke/Torres, Paris/Torres Length: long Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Julie's FanficWhy this must be read: A welcome addition to the episode Equinox. I like how it fleshes out the episode and Burke and Torres' backstory. The tension between Burke and Paris is great, I wish they'd have more time to play that up in the episode. Some great discussion regarding Torres and Paris' relationship and good characterization. ( excerpt ) Equinox 1: Interludes Equinox 2: Interludes

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres Length: short Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Dave's Voyager Fan FictionWhy this must be read: The song "Summer Nights" from Grease rewritten for Voyager. Very cute and extremely well written - Dave preserves the beat and syllables of the original song - and perfect for "Voyager: The Musical," something I would very much like to see. Here's a link to the original song so you can hum along while you read :) Voyager Nights

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres Length: medium Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: unknown Why this must be read: Ensign Greg Kronden can't sleep through the night because he has the misfortune of having quarters right next to B'Elanna's... and boy is she noisy. To top it off, Seven seems to be stalking him! What's a guy to do? Very cute third party pov of Paris/Torres, and even though Greg is a bit of a sap, it's always nice to have some fresh OCs. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres Length: medium Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Dave's Voyager Fan FictionWhy this must be read: In "Someone To Watch Over Me," we learn that Seven has been observing Paris and Torres in a study of human mating behavior. This fic does a nice job filling in the blanks before the episode, and brings us up to date on everything that happened before the incendiary entry of Stardate 52648 0300 hours: intimate relations resume. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay UST, Paris/Torres UST Length: medium Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: LA's Voyager FictionWhy this must be read: Post Threshold, Janeway and Paris are stuck for a couple of days in sickbay recovering. Tom desperately needs a pizza and his attempts are quite amusing, while Janeway gets in touch with a side of the crew she's missed for a while. Great dialogue and characterization, amusing highjinks, frivolous activities and some deep conversations. ( excerpt ) 3 Days and a Pizza and its sequel Covert Manuevers by Briar Rose

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Doctor/Seven, Paris/Torres Length: long Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Barbara's Voyager FictionWhy this must be read: This is my favorite Voyager fic ever. I adore it. It was written in S7, pre-Endgame, and is yet another take on how they get home. I like how the author was gutsy enough to kill off some characters, and she does a great job with characterization. I'm not quite sure why she named this story what she did, but it's the only thing I don't get. Whether it's a funny, sad, happy or angry scene, everything else is this fic is perfect - if they had needed an alternate ending for the canon, this would have been a good choice. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Borg Queen Length: short Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Abbey's Janeway fanficWhy this must be read: Come on, with a pairing like that, this is clearly a must read. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, various Length: long Author on LJ: n/a Author Website: n/a Why this must be read: As you can tell from the title, this is a take on One Thousand and One Nights, Voyager style, albeit only with 26 stories. Chakotay and Janeway provide the framework of the fic, with Chakotay telling Janeway stories about various members of the crew, including both main characters and lesser known ones. Each story is by a different author, which provides a nice variety of styles and a lovely example of collaboration gone right. Come on down, stop on by, hop a spaceship and fly to another Voyager night! 1001 Voyager Nights

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: none Length: short Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Monkee's storiesWhy this must be read: When Samantha Wildman's baby dies, but she ends up getting a new one within the next 30 minutes of the show, I think people tend to ignore how deeply emotional of an event it was. Monkee goes back and fills in those missing parts of "Deadlock" and I think monkee does an admirable job dealing with Samantha's pain and the crew's reaction. M'Ina

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay Length: short Author on LJ: sarkenAuthor Website: Manhattan TrashWhy this must be read: Simply written but very powerful. This is the way Janeway and Chakotay break over the years, slowly yet surely. "You haven't slept in two days," you say, and you know you're being conservative. You always say two days; you can't stand to think that you've been here almost four years now. You can't let anything outside the next twenty-four or the last forty-eight hours exist. She feels all seventy years of this journey enough for both of you. These Years of Madness

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Paris/Torres, Kim/Kes Length: series Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Julie's FanficWhy this must be read: This series fits into that treasured genre of Voyager fanfic: colonizing a planet in the Delta Quadrant. Stories including crew members having babies tend to have the tendency to turn into cheesy baby stories complete with Tom and B'Elanna's three gorgeous babies and all the little spawn running around happily, but this story does a pretty good job of avoiding that fatal pitfall. The series starts out with an alternate universe twist, but then the author dives head first into the doings of the colony. It's fun to read about how they build their colony and about the problems that pop up. I love reading stories that combine major events with every day descriptions of life. Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Janeway/Chakotay, Chakotay/Other Length: 5,000 words Author on LJ: iamsabAuthor Website: fromthesabraryWhy this must be read: Guys, this is THE WAY J/C WORKS FOR ME: UNHAPPILY. I don't know, I feel like they would have so many issues that it would never be happily ever after for them. That said, whatever way you love Janeway/Chakotay, this is really a great fic. Back in the Alpha Quadrant, Janeway and Chakotay finally make it to the bedroom, but never past that. "Things have been different," she says. "It's not the same as it was on Voyager. It can't be." And it isn't, and God, poor Chakotay. He's really great in this fic. ( excerpt ) Homesickness

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: gen, minor Paris/Torres Length: 3,000 words Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: D'A Green RoomWhy this must be read: Chaucer is rolling over in his grave with this fic, which rewrites Voyager a la the Canterbury Tales in the same writing style and old English tone. I found this fic to be very unique and well-written, and it warmed the cockles of my English major heart. If we had been reading this in class, I would have certainly paid more attention lol. D'Alaire certainly put a lot of effort into this: she's got the rhyme scheme and phrasing down perfectly, and I think she even has the meter down as well. Wow. Worth taking a peak at just to admire the work behind this. The Deltabury Tales

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres, Paris/other Length: short Author on LJ: seperisAuthor Website: IndulgenceWhy this must be read: What I like best about this fic is that I don't really know what's going on. Tom's past is always a shadow flickering around the edges, never quite clear what exactly happened. There were bad times, there were good times, and there were those times when everything just blurs together and you wake up in the middle of the night remembering it all. This is one of those times. It was hot--he remembered that.

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: none Length: short Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Dave's Voyager Fan FictionWhy this must be read: This fic is a series of a good 20+ drabbles, all centering on how Harry Kim will never, *ever* make Lieutenant. He's always *this* close, and it's hysterically funny how it slips through his fingers every single time, dooming him to perpetual Ensignhood. The crew is so cruel to Harry! Especially Chakotay!! I laughed my way through each drabble. So much humor packed into so few words. The Examination for Lieutenant

Hey guys, I'm 50thousandtearz and I'll be piloting the Delta Flyer this month. I've noticed a lot of people hating on Star Trek Voyager and calling it the weakest in the franchise. Well, they're wrong! Because this show is so mind blowingly awesome! It runs the gamut from silly to amazingly well written, from funny to downright farcical, from heart breakingly sad to joyous and happy. Love the characters, love the premise, love the stories, love everything, and I hope there are some people who still love it like I do, 7 years later. Here's the overview if you need to freshen up on your Voyager memories. You can expect mostly het canon (and Doctor/Seven and Janeway/Chakotay is canon. BECAUSE I SAY SO. Are we clear?) and some gen. Enjoy the recs! Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER Pairing: Paris/Torres, minor Kim/Seven Length: series Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: none Why this must be read: First comes smut, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage (and some more smut) - that is how I would summarize this series. This was one of the first stories I ever read in this fandom, and it's stuck with me all these years, which has gotta mean something. Funny, cute, mostly in character and lengthy (which is a plus in my eyes), this is definitely a must read for the shippers. Fandom: DEEP SPACE NINE Pairing: Garak/Bashir Length: 70k Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: unknown Why this must be read:The majority of Garak/Bashir fics portray Garak as the dominant partner, while Bashir is cast as the inexperienced newcomer to hot man-on-man action. The First Time reverses these roles, and creates a very different yet utterly believable version of this pairing. Olivia Monteith also captures all of the overwhelming emotions and physical sensations of a 'first time', and balances them with gentle humour and witty dialogue. The result is a poignant and sexy tale of two very different cultures, species and men colliding behind closed doors. ( Have a taste: )The First Time

It's a story that explores the nature of fantasies and reality, or in this case, realities. Depending on the choices you make, the characters will experience dreams or nightmares, love or betrayal, life or death. However, where ever you go, you'll encounter witty banter, graphic sex, and what lies at the very foundation of Garak and Bashir's relationship -- arguments over what makes good literature.
