Why this must be read: There's a lot to love about this story. Lex finds himself in an alternate universe that's not at all close to his reality - the sneaky thing is, it's the reality of the cartoon-verse where Lex is evil, Clark is a bit stiff, and Batman's ... well, a tad creepy and obsessed. Into this world blunders a Lex who's used to a loving Clark and what he gets is a suspicious, resentful JLA and an intrigued criminal mastermind. There are daring rescues, witty dialogues, appearances by all the JLA members and best of all, a happy Lex/Clark - at least in one reality. The juxtaposition of the two universes makes the JLA seem dark and cheerless as opposed to the happy crack that is Smallville future!fic. It's a long, fun read. Well worth the time.
"Who is this?"
Lex was not amused. "Clark, stop playing, I don't like these kinds of jokes. Come get me, please. I'm standing in the middle of a seedy street, with a pimp eyeing me. If you don't come get me now, something bad is going to happen." Lex's voice was getting harsher the longer he talked.
"Who the hell is this?"
"Fuck you, Kent, I'll find my own way home." Lex went to hang up. Only the harsh shouts on the other end kept him from hanging up.
"Wait!" Clark's yell seemed to indicate that he was wide awake now. "Is this some kind of joke?"
"Clark, I'm at Third and Brock, come get me now or I will start killing things." Lex looked around and sneered at the bum eyeing his pajama bottoms.
