Strangers' Attraction by Keiko Kirin (R/NC-17)

Fandom: THE PERSUADERS!
Pairing: Lord Brett Sinclair/Danny Wilde
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] keiko_kirin
Author Website: keikotorium
Why this must be read:
One of the great things about The Persuaders! is watching the main duo's relationship develop. How did two proud, independent bachelors come to dismantle the walls they've depended on for decades in favour of a fort for two? In a slash reading, how did they take that first risk? It could have been easy and playful, drunk and disorderly, wild and romantic. Or it could have happened like this: a bit dark, a bit dirty, and a bit too soon.

This episode tag to "Angie, Angie" comes at a time when Danny and Brett's growing rapport is still heavily laced with caution and mutual testing, and further strained by recent events that have left Danny angry and hurt and Brett... fascinated. It's a car crash that heads down a rabbit hole with light at the end of the tunnel, and it's a reading of the characters that's both extremely romantic and convincingly carnal.

Danny lifted his glass and edged closer.

"So, you're going to stay and get shloshed with me, instead of going out on the town to ravish the local talent?" Though he playfully clinked his glass against Brett's, there was something cold in his voice. "Guess you deserve a medal. Sacrifice in the line of duty."

And I've just printed all three of her stories, so I have them to read as soon as it's appropriate!

Though ghu knowns when it will ever be finish. :-)

It didn't occured to me that Angie was still alive, I had assumed he died in Danny's arms. And it's interesting how great minds thinks alike, my story covers Danny taking Angie's body back to New York and Brett going with him. (After a bit of verbal tapdancing to be invited) (With Death In The Family having Danny meeting Brett's family I thought it was only fair to have Brett meet Danny's family in NY, although, like in Brett's case it was a death that caused it)

It's still taking awhile to get used to seeing slash on this series (I was 13 when it was first watched in NY and my Angie, Angie WIP story is gen) But I am enjoying it. I was wondering how a first time would go with them, it being the 70's, in England and Brett being a Lord and all that. I'm enjoying the creative ways it coming about.

Of course grief does make one vulnable, even Danny. I wonder if Brett is going to feel a bit guilty for his timing. (Granted Danny was the one pushing, but still...)

Loved that gesture with the car keys. If Brett had any doubts that Danny wasn't coming back, that certainly took care of it. (Ironic since it was a car race that got them together in the first place...)

Enjoyed the fic and I'm feeling a bit better about my WIP. Maybe I should get back to it.

Anyone out there want to voluteer as a beta? (g)
