B'Elanna's Secret Series by Captain Jinx (NC-17)

Hey guys, I'm [livejournal.com profile] 50thousandtearz and I'll be piloting the Delta Flyer this month. I've noticed a lot of people hating on Star Trek Voyager and calling it the weakest in the franchise. Well, they're wrong! Because this show is so mind blowingly awesome! It runs the gamut from silly to amazingly well written, from funny to downright farcical, from heart breakingly sad to joyous and happy. Love the characters, love the premise, love the stories, love everything, and I hope there are some people who still love it like I do, 7 years later.

Here's the overview if you need to freshen up on your Voyager memories.

You can expect mostly het canon (and Doctor/Seven and Janeway/Chakotay is canon. BECAUSE I SAY SO. Are we clear?) and some gen. Enjoy the recs!

Fandom: STAR TREK VOYAGER
Pairing: Paris/Torres, minor Kim/Seven

Why this must be read: First comes smut, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage (and some more smut) - that is how I would summarize this series. This was one of the first stories I ever read in this fandom, and it's stuck with me all these years, which has gotta mean something. Funny, cute, mostly in character and lengthy (which is a plus in my eyes), this is definitely a must read for the shippers.

B'Elanna's Secret Series

At the time, there was some griping about Voyager being weaker than TNG, and IN a few ways, I agreed (at that time). However, for the most part I disagreed, usually quite vehmently, and my support was borne out in the long run. Seven of Nine is surely one of the most memorable ST characters, and a great deal of the Borg mythology was worked out during the series. And the few flaws in the original season were more or less subsequently corrected with some bold moves. Sure, the silliness of the spongeheaded Kazon won't be forgotten soon, but neither will most of the characters the were encountered. And surely during the run, there was more of a TOS feel then with any of the other series. Janeway is easily the third best of the Captains, and the Voyager crew became family like no other series since TOS. And as much as I love a great many things about TNG, it's Voyager that I most often want to go back and re-watch.

I agree with you so much. Man, I even hint that I enjoyed Voyager more than TNG and some people go apeshit. So. I kinda want to hug you right now.

Woo-hoo! That takes me down memory lane. Looking forward to the recs! :)

I must admit that I didn't think Voyager was as good as TNG or DS9 at first. AT FIRST. The beginning seasons were very weak in my eyes, but it got much better later. I also liked that it had some really awesome women (B'Elanna and Seven), but the main woman in the series, Janeway, just always rubbed me the wrong way and her presence made the show a tough sell for me. Sorry, I really disliked Chakotay, too. :-/
