Why this must be read:
Sally Donovan is pretty awesome, when you think about it, her antipathy towards our "hero" Sherlock notwithstanding. This fic shows Sally's point-of-view, her trust issues with Sherlock, and her intelligence and courage. I love the subtle imagery of this story and how the reader is unsure of what is going on as Sherlock tortures Sally. Intriguing stuff.
They fell silent and Holmes took a step closer, his breath ghosting over her face, ridiculous curls mingling with her own, eyes searching hers to find something within. A new knife gleamed in his hand, blade reflecting the florescent lighting set high above them all. “Do you trust me?” he asked, barely sufficient to be considered a whisper.
“No,” she replied loud enough for the others to hear, knowing they were listening to anything and everything the two acquaintances had to say no matter what the volume. She swallowed heavily, her entire head moving with the action.

Sorry about the site issues - my fic site was hosted on a server that crashed. It is back up as of today thanks to an awesome partner, but has a huge backlog of stories that have not been added, including all the Sherlock ones.
Thank you again for the rec!
