Blake's 7/Star Trek: TOS (G)

I believe I'm meant to rec a crossover at this point, so here is one of my favourites.

Pairing: none, though there is implied attraction with Jenna/Blake and Cally/Avon
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] entropy_house (very recently)
Author Website: Marian's Sites, but almost all of Marian's stories are on the Hermit Library
Why this must be read:

I'm not normally keen on crossovers as I require a good explanation for characters from one universe ending up in another. This story covers that extremely well: after a quick sling-shot manoeuvre around a black hole, the Liberator is propelled back in time, just as the Enterprise was at least once in Star Trek. It is a particularly nice touch that the Federation of both times is the same one, especially as the insignia are so similar.

However I really love this story for its humour, the spot-on characterisation, and the very believable way the two crews interact. Everyone is delightfully themselves, and everyone in both crews gets a look-in. This is sheer entertainment and a treat for any fan of both shows.

When the Liberator is threatened by Romulans:
"Look like cannibals," Vila said. "Let's run for it."

"They are a different species from you. It wouldn't be cannibalism if they ate you, Vila." Avon paused. "Come to think of it, it probably wouldn't be cannibalism if I ate you."
When they meet Spock:
"Another one of them Romulans!" Vila cried. "And he looks even more like a cannibal than the last ones did."

"I apologize, Captain. Vila has an active imagination." Blake gave Vila a glare.

The officer beside Kirk lifted one slanted eyebrow and said, "Most illogical. I am Vulcan, not Romulan, and therefore a vegetarian. Even if I were not, your - Vila - and I are not of the same species, and for either of us to ingest the other could not possibly be construed as cannibalism."
Yes--Spock and Avon find they have a lot in common, as do Blake and Kirk, while Vila has fun--and so does the reader.

One small thing: the story is on Hermit which appears to have lost the gaps between scenes, which can be slightly confusing. But it's a clever and funny story which I recommend to fans of either show.
