Sherlock/Cabin Pressure (Gen)
Title: Planes and Pirates by Sketchbookpianist
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes & Martin Crief
Length: 657 words
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: FF.net
Why this must be read:
To be honest, I haven't found very many Sherlock cross-overs I like and most of them have been rec'd on Crack Van already. But this little fic is kind of adorable.
Cabin Pressure is a hilarious BBC radio comedy. You can find some episodes on youtube. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Martin Crief, who couldn't be more different from Sherlock. The magic of radio is that they don't look alike either. Martin is short, ginger, ernest, and not all that bright.
Until he ws six, Martin wanted to grow up to be an airplane. Once he learned the impossibility of that he dreamed of being a pilot. According to his brother Mycroft, Sherlock wanted to be a pirate. In "Planes and Pirates" the nine-year-old cousins share a moment of connection but stay recognizably themselves. Extra credit for the Dr. Who shout-out:-). It's too short for an excerpt so just go read and enjoy :-)
