08:28 pm Tippin Syndrome by Jennifer-Oksana (R?)
Tippin Syndrome by Jennifer-Oksana (unrated, but probably R for language)

Fandom: Alias
Pairing: Will/Jack
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] jennyo
Author Website: I'm Just Sayin'
Why this must be read:

Jenny-O has written a number of Alias stories I love, including For the Love of the Game, my favorite Anna story, and some great Alias crossovers you can find on her personal page. But this is the one that makes me grin like a freak every time I read it. It's partly her Will-voice, which is spot on:

Will's pretty sure that no one's ever been as much the man as Jack Bristow, though this might have more to do with the fact that Jack saved his life without even breaking a sweat, or even an expression. In either case, Will knows who the man is, and the man is Bristow. Jack Bristow.

It's also because Jack and Will, whether you see them with the slash goggles on or not, have had a fascinating relationship. Whether Jack was kidnapping and pounding on Will to save his life, using him for Jack's own ends, or awkwardly hugging him, they've had a strange sort of bond, and believe you me, Jack doesn't bond often.

"You're Sydney's friend," Jack says gently (is he leaning closer? Will can smell his aftershave). "I don't want her to lose any more friends."

"I love Sydney," Will says, wondering if he's hallucinating the hand. "She's my friend. You're my friend, too."

"I'm nobody's friend, Will," Jack says, taking the washcloth away. "It's too expensive to be my friend."

I love this story. I love this story. :)

10:00 pm Walls of Glass by Charlotte Frost
Fandom: Starsky and Hutch

Pairing: Starsky/Hutch

Fic Link: http://www.squidge.org/~flamingo/starskyhutchslash/HAS1/glass.htm

Why this must be read: In Heart and Soul 1. I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan and I watched every one of the movies. In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Spock sacrifices himself for the ship. He has been irradiated and is enclosed in a room with only a glass window between him and the rest of the engineering crew. Kirk comes to talk to him before he passes and, as Henry Jenkins said in the book Textual Poachers, if you take away the glass...that's slash. SH watch the movie and the relation Starsky makes between that scene and the Plague scene from the show is one I was amazed at. Take away the glass, that's slash. Leave the glass up, the two lovers could never touch each other before the end. This was the fear Starsky had when Hutch had the plague. It's an amazing story.

10:02 pm Hour of Seperation by Sylvia Bond
Fandom: Starsky and Hutch

Pairing: Starsky/Hutch

Fic Link: http://www.squidge.org/~flamingo/starskyhutchslash/classic/Bond/separation.htm

Why this must be read: Also in Heart and Soul 1. The plot idea is simple. Starsky and Hutch are seperated and given new partners while Dobey is away sick. You never know what you have until it's gone and you never appreciate what you have back until
someone hits you over the head with it:)

10:04 pm Warrior of the Past by Charlotte Frost
Fandom: Starsky and Hutch

Pairing: Starsky/Hutch

Fic Link: http://www.squidge.org/~flamingo/starskyhutchslash/Has5/warrior.htm

Why this must be read: In Heart and Soul 5. It's mostly written as a report from Hutch explaining WHY he broke into an art gallery and stole a painting. The explanation is very well-thought out. I believed him, really I did. The problem
is...it's not all that it seems. I love the twist at the end.

11:16 pm The First Move, by Sinead
The First Move
Fandom: Sports Night
Pairing: Dan/Casey
Author on LJ :smallbeer
Author Website:Author's Website

Why this must be read: There are old musicals, girls who just don't get it, and a contemplative Casey who does. If you aren't singing to yourself by the time this fic is over, I'll be surprised.

"They were standing shirtless in wardrobe after coming off the air. Skin smooth and pale and fine-grained as ivory, Dan had almost no hair on his chest. A few days in the sun would turn him a light biscuity shade, but in New York in the dead of winter, he was the color of newly risen cream. The sun would probably gild the few fine dark hairs curled around his nipples, too. A narrow silky shadow descended from the valley of his navel into the open fly of his jeans. Casey felt his mouth dry up, and when Dan glanced over at him, he had to thrust his head into the locker where he kept his street clothes and pretend to look for his watch, unable to stop the blush that seemed to rise from his crotch. Thank god I had my back turned when he took off his pants, he thought. "
