Why this vid kicks ass: This rec is entirely self-indulgent. Danger Mouse and Penfold have a special place in my heart because their antics made me laugh out loud every weekday for years. I'd get home from a long, grim day at school just in time for 5 minutes of pure animated joy. If you've never seen the show, you won't understand what I mean, but this songvid is a perfect encapsulation of the silliness that was typical of DM's adventures. I love everything about it, from the throbbing animated love-hearts, to the snapping pincers of death, not to mention Penfold's complete nuttiness and Baron Greenback's villainous frustration. *happy sigh* I suspect this won't translate if you don't already know the show, but if you do, this is a delight.

Why this must be read:

It's possible I volunteered to rec just so I could recommend this story come crossover day.

The wonderful humour in both DangerMouse and The Professionals vibes like a jazz quartet. Doyle and DM (DangerMouse himself) are on the ball and on the job, while Bodie and Penfold (DM's tweed-suited, timid hamster sidekick) provide the slapstick. Debra Hicks has a warm way with the characters. This one's a gentle and chuckle-filled antidote to my last rec. If you love it as I do you'll be pleased to know there are sequels on The Hatstand.
