06:15 am All of Them Are True by Jane St Clair (NC-17)
Fandom: QUEER AS FOLK: UK
Pairing: Stuart/Vince
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] 3jane
Author Website: Janefic

Why this must be read:
Scenes from the great road trip are always interesting to me, and this one has that typical Jane edge and compelling physicality. It's not the fanon Vince one sees so typically, and the characterization works for me as post-series Vince. This is one of my favorite QaFUK stories.

10:45 am Five Three One by Kate Bolin (PG)
Fandom: X-MEN MOVIEVERSE
Pairing: none; Rogue
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] katemonkey
Author Website: The Pearl

Why this must be read:

Pretty. And angsty. Yay.

Sound.

Her hearing was always good, the curse of the only child in the large house, didn't want Mama to start yellin', no ma'am. When she was reborn on top of cold copper and steel, she could hear everything, the sounds of the city below her right against her tender ears.

12:07 pm 'Shorn' by Firesignwriter (NC-17)
Fandom: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN
Pairing: Jack Sparrow/Officer Groves
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] firesignwriter
Author Website: firesignwriter's bare bones fic archive
Why this must be read: Well, first because it's by [livejournal.com profile] firesignwriter, whose writing is so amazing that even her offhand posts are gemlike goodies. But beyond that, this story is the worthy sequel to her Fortune and Favor, which has already been rec'ed on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van. The author's summary for Shorn says: Norrington wants Jack "unrecognizable"; Groves carries out his orders. And lo, there is nookie. That's it, in a nutshell, but what she's not telling you about is the exquisitely funny/painful/sensual train of thought running through Jack's head as Officer Groves ("That has to be the best pirate I've ever seen!") completes his work, both official and... er... unofficial.

12:13 pm Theories of Flight by Lamardeuse (PG-13)
Fandom:DUE SOUTH
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse
Author Website: when the world is puddle-wonderful
Why this must be read:

Lamardeuse has never been recced here before. I have no idea why.

Centered around the episode "Good For the Soul," most of this is just Ray reflecting on Fraser. But it’s more than that. It covers so much about them both- Ray, who he is, who he used to be, who he wants to be, and Fraser, the “untouchable” SuperMountie with a lot going on underneath that Stetson. I love the way Lamardeuse lays out the dynamics of their relationship. It’s such a great take on it.

Hold on to your hats. I'm about to mix metaphors. )

One of my favorites by her (the other being Mister Instinct). She’s a wonderful author, and very prolific. In fact, she recently penned her 50th due South story. Though it doesn’t show at all, Theories of Flight was story #1, her “first attempt at due South”. Attempt? Ha. She nails it.

Fandom: QUEER AS FOLK: UK
Pairing: Stuart/Vince
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] doyle_sb4
Author Website: Coreleone's stories on Across the Pond

Why this must be read:
This road trip story is a sequel to Starry, Starry Night, but I like the Vince POV sequel much better. Read it; I think you'll enjoy this piece.
