Fandom: SMALLVILLE Pairing: Clark/Lex; Clark/Bruce Wayne UST Author on LJ: velvetgloveAuthor Website: Salacious TextsWhy this must be read:I'd rec this story just for the Jealous!Clark, the Clark/Bruce moments, and Jed's deliciously written Bruce Wayne, 19 and visiting Smallville. But the Clark/Lex story, that transition from friendship to first-time to established relationship--that is wonderful, too. Eidolon helvum

Title: Dream of Vague Shapes Fandom: STARGATE ATLANTIS Pairing: Sheppard/Weir Author on LJ: marag Author Website: Diversions & DigressionsWhy this must be read:T'was my birthday present! No, really, it was. Mara wrote it for me but that's not why I'm reccing it. I'm reccing it because it was a tasty Sheppard/Weir place with spot on Zelenka, McKay and Atlantis appearances. (Seriously, the city is devious) Plus the relationship between John & Elizabeth is bang on real and comfortable and the story itself? He never is going to get that turkey sandwich is he? Believe me, for me to say that about a teyla fic...It is. The language, the descriptions, the unearthly feel to the scenes...the apocalyptic feel of it. It's an Au scene from Siege III and...well, in greensilver's own words? things don't go as planned. Night Breeze

Fandom: X-MEN Pairing: Logan/Kurt Author on LJ: obeythebunnyWhy this must be read:Logurt, the hot crossing of Wolverine/Nightcrawler. It's an acquired taste but well worth it. I rec'd this fic all over the place. It's hot and moody with bottom!Logan (believe it or not). Very well written with a quiet, dreamy tone. Soft CollisionExtra: Satisfy all your logurt needs.

Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Pairing: Napoleon/Illya Author on LJ: crimsonquillsAuthor Website: Obsidian QuillsI thought I’d end the month with a recommendation of a very steamy short story, which I would classify as PWP. Nix is known for her ability to write sex scenes that are more than just smut. She avoids the clichéd scenes that we see in so much slash, and she makes the sex seem vivid and believable. Her stories, no matter how short, emphasize the relationship between her characters and show the sex as a part of that relationship. ( Why this must be read )

Fandom: DUE SOUTH Pairing: Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski Author on LJ: visionshadowsAuthor Website: Northwest PassageWhy this must be read:I'm usually not one for kid-fics, but I love how this story takes us along for a look at Fraser and Kowalski's life years down the line and shows how they are dealing with all the trials that happen in life. They are back in Chicago for Ray's mother's funeral and for Ray's father however he needs them. Although this story deals with some heavy issues, Ray and Fraser are working together and even when they are arguing you can see the solid foundation of their relationship. I really like how this story fleshes out the relationships within the Kowalski household and within the Fraser-Kowalski household and realistically shows the tensions and misunderstandings that happen in families. Sometimes jumping through windows and chasing down crooks seems easier than facing the extended family and coping with loss. ( Ray knew he’d be doing a whole lot worse if Fraser wasn’t there with him. )A Passing Feeling by Zillah

Fandom: OZ Pairing: Beecher/ Keller Author on LJ: likethesun2Author Website: Finishing the HatWhy this must be read:Oh, have I mentioned how much I *love* new writers discovering Oz? You think you've seen this relationship done a hundred times and then someone new comes along and offers a whole new take on it. I love the gorgeous writing in this, the way the narrative weaves in and out of that which happened and that which didn't - the road diverged and here's both paths it took. The dialogue, the metaphor, the repetition and the recurring motif of the telephone, make for a beautiful story and yet another way to see this relationship. Fandom: LOTR Pairing: Boromir/Faramir Author on LJ: sweetsorceryAuthor Website: http://www.geocities.com/SweetSorcery/stories.htmlWhy this must be read:One of the first, and one of the best to write in the Gondor brothers-incest world is sweetsorcery. Her tender depictions of love between the brothers is well-rendered, remaining true to their characters, typically when both are in late teens or early 20s. In this story, "Make the World Disappear", she shows an older Boromir fighting against himself, desperate to hide his growing attraction to younger brother Faramir. As they visit the seaside, a sudden shower places them in a tight spot, and Boromir can no longer restrain his feelings. The story is lush in language, visually evocative, and stays in character throughout. To watch Boromir fight to hide his feelings is to feel the depths of despair; to watch Faramir overcome those barriers is a triumph of love. Fandom: LOTR Pairing: Boromir/Faramir Author on LJ: empyAuthor Website: http://www.cordialreprobate.com/Why this must be read: In the realm of incest-fic between the Gondorian brothers, empy does not write soft romance, but serious warfare. This is a world in which soft kisses can only exist at the margins. Boromir and Faramir are men of wartime, who know battle, tactics, and strategy, all of which are apparent in everything they do. In "Adamant and Iron" their growing involvement is traced through a series of vignettes that stretch over years, from the moment of first awareness, to moments stolen in the midst of battle, or the moments before an interrogation at the hands of their ever-watchful father, Denethor. This is almost anti-romance, a story of incest that is carefully hidden over decades from prying eyes on all sides. The warfare is written truthfully, the details of combat, training, and military life rendered fully. What I love even more is the dialogue, which sounds like Tolkien and carries the truth of both characters in it. In this excerpt, the two brothers are home in Minas Tirith for a brief respite from battle. Is anyplace safe enough for them to tryst? Faramir thinks so.
