11:12 am Habits by Alara Rogers (PG)
Fandom: X-MEN COMICVERSE
Pairing: Magneto/Lee, briefly.
Author Website: Alara's Happy Happy Mostly Text Web Site
Why this must be read:

One of my favorite periods in X-Men history has always been the era when Magneto took over Professor Xavier's duties training the X-Men and the New Mutants. I think the writers at Marvel did a great job of showing Magneto's struggle to live up to Xavier's ideals despite his own beliefs and experiences and the problems of getting the various X-Men to accept the leadership of their former enemy. This story offers a glimpse inside that fragile, fledgeling trust, and is one of my favorite Kitty/Magneto stories.

11:51 am Logos Redux by Molly (NC-17)
Fandom: FIREFLY
Pairing: River/Simon
Author Website: http://www.unfitforsociety.net/remix03/index.htm
Why this must be read:

This is a wonderfully bittersweet piece of CSI, getting inside River's head as she tries to find something solid in her constantly shifting world, and the language is simply lovely:

She noted immediately that Simon had 128 more square feet of space than she did, and her father led her to the window when she complained. "Little room for a little girl," he said placatingly. "But look at the view we saved for such a big mind."

12:59 pm Just a Day in the Life and Repercussions by Surisa (NC-17)
Fandom: X-MEN COMICVERSE
Pairing: Multiple Man/Multiple Man/Multiple Man...
Author Website: http://members.tripod.com/mvslash/
Why this must be read:

Whether you're talking mutants, immortals or secret agents, most shows and fandoms thrive on angst. But every now and then it's great to delve into a character who actually has fun with their superpowers instead of just moping about them. Multiple Man was a pretty boring guy when he first appeared with the X-Men, but in his X-Factor heyday he was written as an odd-ball prankster with no impulse control. So what would you do if you could create infinite copies of yourself and feel everything they did?

03:27 pm Necessary Actions by Carol S.
Fandom: HIGHLANDER
Pairing: Methos/Duncan implied
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] lapillus
Author Website: The Writings of Carol S
Why this must be read: Yes, this is short. So's a double-whisky. Like a shot of whisky thrown back in a hurry, this packs a punch, and an aftertaste, and leaves you out of breath. Methos goes with the winner, hmm? In this one, he decided who must win. And why.

03:44 pm Chrysalis by Sangga (M)
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: 9/Rose
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] sangga
Author Website: unknown
Why this must be read:

This fic must be read because the little glimpses into the Doctor and Rose's relationship add up so nicely. Nine moments that... dude, I suck at telling you why things are good. They just are. The Doctor tries to get Rose a clue about regeneration and finds out that it doesn't really matter. How's that? *grin*

Fandom: THE O.C.
Pairing:  Ryan/Seth
Author on LJ:[profile] candle_beck
Author Website:o.c. fic is archived here
Why this must be read:

Well, I've been pretty quiet this month with the O.C. reccage, but I do have a good story for you today! This is one of my favorites--it always makes me smile, in that "oh, this is good writing" kind of way. [profile] candle_beck has been recced here before, with good reason; her stories seem to capture the boys, at least for me. And this one--well, it's a phone conversation, so it's all about dialogue, and really, what is more emblematic of these two (Seth especially) than dialogue? And it's perfectly done. You think it's all light and humorous, and it is that, but look close enough and you'll see that there are little glimmers of seriousness showing through the lightheartedness. Seth, iPod-less, calls Ryan for entertainment:Read more... ), but later it comes out that there is, as usual, more to it than that. Read more... ) And if that doesn't convince you, well, don't you just love the idea of Seth distracted by spinny abulance lights? Go, read--you won't be sorry.

09:43 pm A Million Days by Tallulah Rasa (G-ish)
Title: A Million Days
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Pairing: Gen, focused on Jack and Daniel
Author on LJ: Not that I know of.
Author Website: The Good, the Bad, and the Indeterminate

Why this must be read:

If you took all the things I love best about Jack and Daniel's friendship - the shared history, the instinctive understanding, the solace, the way they just balance each other - and distilled them into one story, it'd look something like this. And the Jack voice is excellent.

Title: Unreasonable
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Pairing: Daniel/Sam
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] raqs
Author Website: None that I know of.

Why this must be read:

Jack/Daniel may be my *favorite* pairing, but I've got a real soft spot for Daniel/Sam and this story shows their connection in a way that's believable and sexy. And the other two parts of the team, and both characters' connection to them, are very much present and respected in the story.
