11:52 am No One: Found in the Void by Dr. Benway (R)
Fandom: DCU
Pairing: none
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] d_benway
Author Website: None I know of, but much of his stuff is archived here, at LubaKmetyk's archive.
Why this must be read:

Gen sometimes gets a bad rap. I'm telling you right now, this is a romance that will rip your heart out and leave you with a bloody hole. And it's gen. I urge slashers not to give it a miss.

No One: Found in the Void

([livejournal.com profile] d_benway is famous for his dark stories. This is one of the less dark ones in my opinion, but that's not saying much. Take warning.)

*waves* Sorry for the late start this month, but RL has been more insane than usual. Anyways, I'm [livejournal.com profile] jebbypal and I'll be your Farscape driver for the month.
I don't exactly have any plans for the type of stories I'll be reccing, but I would like to pose a challenge to everyone -- If you read a story based on my recommendations, LEAVE FEEDBACK for the author. Seriously. No better way to feed the muses of good writers than to show some appreciation (the same goes for vidders, etc).
So let's start, shall we?

Fandom: FARSCAPE
Pairing: Scorpius/Sikozu, Scorpius/Braca
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] labingi
Author Website: none known

Why this must be read: Most of the post-Peacekeeper Wars fics that I've read have either been too sappy or incredibly dark. Notice, I said most. [livejournal.com profile] labingi avoids both of those outcomes. Instead, the author gives us what the series gave us -- a universe of greys. Additionally, this is easily one of the best Scorpius characterization pieces I've seen. [livejournal.com profile] labingi doesn't spare any of Scorpius's feelings as she gives us a glimpse into his earlier life.

Eek... is it already the 5th? I'm [livejournal.com profile] ctorres, and I'll be your CSI driver for the month. I plan on reccing a variety of pairings, but you can count on a heavy emphasis on Sara and a whole bunch of medium-to-long stories.

Fandom: CSI
Pairing: Catherine/Sara
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] thelastgoodname
Author Website: A Million Possible Universes
Why this must be read: I like this story because it's different from most romances. It's Catherine and Grissom, talking about Catherine's growing frustration over Sara. As a result, this is a great Catherine/Grissom friendship story as well as a Catherine/Sara romance. There's also a sequel, Stray Friends, in which Sara and Greg discuss Catherine.

Hi, everyone! I'll be your humble Oz recc'er for the month of November.

Fandom: Oz
Pairing: Beecher/Keller
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] callmerizzo
Author Website: Strange Bedfellows
Why this must be read:

This story is set on the first night of lockdown, post-"Out o' Time." It's everything you'd hope a lockdown story would be... it's hot, it's dark, and does an amazing job of describing the tense air between Keller and Beecher on the first night back together in a pod. It's Chris' POV, and you can't help but feel his fear about what will happen between the two of them. And in the end, this story is just sexy as hell.

09:22 pm The Story of the Hurricane by Scrunchy (PG-13)
Sorry for the late start everyone! It's Tommygirl again and I'm back driving the Sports Night vehicle for the month.

Fandom: SPORTS NIGHT
Pairing: Dan/Casey
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] scrunchy
Author Website: Scrunchy.Net
Why this must be read: This story is an A/U look at both Dan and Casey. Instead of sportscasters, they work in weather, but it seems like they still have all the same problems. They also still have the perfect banter and relationship that needs to resonate for any fan of the show and the boys. Scrunchy manages to take the setting of a hurricane and an alternate universe and make it work for the boys.
