Hi all! I'm [livejournal.com profile] anjali_organna and I'll be your September BSG driver.  I'll read anything as long as it's well written, which is why I chose to lead off with the following recommendation:

Title: Jigsaw (when the pieces come together, you'll see it)
Fandom: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (2003)
Pairing: Boomer/Racetrack
Length: 1507 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] pirateygoodness
Author Website: BSG fic tag on her LJ
Why this must be read:

As I said above, I'll read anything if it's done well.  This fic is done well.  The author has a good ear for rhythm and uses language, syntax and spacing effectively in a way that makes the actual words on the page add a visual punch and become part of the story that she is trying to tell.

It's Boomer, confused and terrified and struggling to understand what is happening to her.  It's Boomer/Racetrack, a pairing that never would have occured to me and yet [livejournal.com profile] pirateygoodness makes it seem completely logical.  It's a sex scene that actually evokes the thought process during sex in a realistic fashion.

Excerpt:

(Or maybe she's hoping this is what going crazy feels like, because there's another option – the option written on the mirror in her locker, the one that leaves her with hours, days missing that she just can't

- if Boomer gets to choose, she figures she'd rather go crazy. That's all.)

Fandom: JUSTICE LEAGUE ANIMATED
Pairing/Characters: Huntress/The Question
Length: One-Shot
Author on LJ: Personal Journal: [livejournal.com profile] cold_queen_5, Fic Journal: [livejournal.com profile] cold_fic
Author Website: none

Author Summary: Huntress and Question argue about dinner.

Why this must be read: The idea of the vigilante superhero is at once inspiring and frightening. One one hand, you have a superhuman being who's above law enforcement and on the other... well, you have to wonder how much you can trust someone who's beyond the reaches of the law.

The Huntress and The Question are both superheroes who straddle that moral line between 'good' and 'evil', the latter having Spoilers ) They're also in a canon relationship, something you wouldn't really expect when pairing an obsessive, faceless conspiracy theorist with a crossbow-shooting, Gothamite femme fatale. Even more surprising, the pairing's cute and also rather effective. [livejournal.com profile] cold_queen_5 shows us how it works, mixing Huntress's snark and Question's never-ending conspiracy theories into an innocently ordinary situation to create something comedic, amusing and humanizing.

And if my commentary hasn't convinced you, yet, try a snippet of the fic. )

Now go read it.
