07:13 am Up on the House Top (Thud, Thud, Thud) by harmless_one (R)
Many thanks for joining me this month. Hopefully, there wasn't any whiplash for the number of fics I've recced that were NC-17 or R! If you enjoyed the joyride, why not sign up to take a turn at driving the van?

Why this must be read:

Saved this one for last because it's epic. Yes, it does run up to 20,000 words but believe me, it's so good, so satisfying, it reads like a seamless text of win. Bruce Wayne plays a department store Santa the night an alien crashlands into Gotham. When that alien identifies himself as a correspondent looking to interview Mr. Claus, there's nothing left to do than hide Clark (real name: Kal) until the action dies down. Throw in a snarky Alfred (playing a double role as Dobby, Bat-Santa's elf) intent in throwing one-liners whenever he can, the Bat tank, the romance (yes, romance) between Bruce and Clark, and you have a perfect excuse to set aside a block of time to read and re-read this gem.

Fandom: STARSKY AND HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch (Slash)

Why this must be read:

Bobby. The ham-radio boy who clued Starsky in to the fact that there was a cop in trouble and saved the day.

I love the one-time characters who have an impact on our favorite cops, and I often wish we could see more of them, like Sweet Alice. My favorite guest character today is Bobby.

In this story, Bobby takes Starsky up on his offer of showing him the communications center, and Bobby is perhaps a little more intuitive than he gave himself credit for.

Has it been a month already? Well then I am down to my last recs. I have very much enjoyed pushing my . . . er, I mean driving the van and reccing Mag 7 fics for you this month.

This is a relationship story that is just beautifully written from Ezra's POV. It was written for the Geezer fic challenge and for me it remains one of my favorites. And there is the fact that it is by Charlotted, need I say more?

Why this must be read: This is the funniest fic I have read in the last five years, seriously. Cordelia stages an intervention for Angel. Because she thinks he has Seasonal Affective Disorder and needs a therapist. Or a shoulder to cry on. Or Prozac. Oh, those wacky Los Angeles therapists! Littera does a great job with all the characters, but especially Cordelia, a bundle of enthusiasm that can force the men in her life to do anything by giving them a mean look. The plot is awesome, funny and in classic S2 style, I couldn't stop laughing as I read it.

"Angel?" Cordelia, on the other hand, sounded like she was trying to herd sheep with her voice. Retarded sheep. Retarded, easily spooked sheep. "Angel?"

And, damn. He couldn't remember what they were talking about. "Yes?" he said, trying to remember if he was agreeing to something, and if so, what.

"Good. Okay, I'll start." She looked at the papers again. "Angel, we called this intervention because -"

"Wait. Intervention?" This was definitely the first time anyone had used that word.

Cordelia plowed on, ignoring him. "Because you've seemed a little, well, down lately."

"Buffy died. The world almost ended. The wheels came off my rolly chair. It's been a tough week."
