Why this must be read:

Ashley is far better known as a Gibbs/Ducky writer and that pairing is her main love. However, she has been branching out over the last year or so and this is a fine example of another relationship which I personally see so very clearly.

It's Christmas Eve and Fornell goes to see Gibbs, as simple as that. But friendship moves on to something else.

One of the main things I like about this story and the way Ashley writes Gibbs/Fornell is that the Gibbs is this is different from the Gibbs when he's with Ducky - but both are the Gibbs we see on screen. It's a very nicely executed story with some great dialogue and it was so very them. It's how I could see it happening between them. It made me sniff at times and is poignant.

Why this must be read:
There's a lot of stories in this fandom where one of the guys gets brainwashed and it takes a lot to keep me interested. So before you run off thinking it's just another one of those, stop! This story is just so immersive and so well done that I just couldn't stop reading it to it's thrilling conclusion!

Illya has been missing for 10 months after an assignment and is being exchanged by the Russians for some other prisoners. Napoleon has naturally been worried and goes along to the exchange to see his partner. But something's not quite right. Here's a teaser for you:

The story is gritty, action packed and very well-paced. Although the story is all about Illya, the way the author captures Napoleon is pretty much word-perfect.  There's action, excellent character interplay and just the right balance between angst, tension and action. The serious nature of the story puts it a bit edgier than Season 4 but just as dramatic. Although it's long, it's well worth reading, a rollercoaster ride which will hopefully have you as hooked as I was!

Why this must be read: Because however tragic the start or how bad an end it came to for both of them, Maya and Alejandro did manage to make that journey. The snippets of backstory, the practicalities and their wider world makes the siblings realer - they're people in their own right as well as an illustration of a pair falling into growing dependence in extremis.

It's a temporary, fragile peace through the story. And takes a good whack at making sense of the really odd route that canon sent them on.

Why this must be read:

I admit, I adore established relationship stories.  Sure, anyone can get two characters together, but I'm interested in seeing how they make 'happily ever after' work. 

I love the quiet domesticity of this story, just two guys coming home from tour and living their lives.

He practically inhaled his sushi and vitamin water, and when he was done he turned on his phone. Voicemail from his parents, text from Gabe, text from Nate, Gizmo picture from Vicky, text from Gabe, text from Gabe, text from Ryland. The one from Ryland was just a smiley and wakey wakey; Alex quickly thumbed I thought sleepers were supposed to get a kiss to wake them up, where's mine?

A lot happened to the Doctor around the end of the New!Who series 3. The Year That Never Was, Martha leaving, the who thing with the Titanic. The series moves right on to the next season with Donna, and we never get the fallout. Adalia gives us her version of that time in Growing Pains.  The tenth doctor goes to the one person he feels that can help him- Jack. A Jack from far far into the future.  Adalia's ten is angst filled but still trusts Jack enough to put himself in Jack's hands.  Growing pains gives us some wonderful insightes into Ten and Jack, their relationship in the present and future as well as some humor throughout.
