for Lucile Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: Blair/Jim Length: 20K each Author on LJ: alysbasement Author Website: Alyjude’s stories at The Kennel and Alyjude (LiveJournal) Why this must be read: The guys do domestic. I know not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, but it’s huge in my family and I invariably find myself up to my elbows in stuffing, cranberry sauce and acorn squash on Thursday morning. So, I can really identify with Aly’s stories, which are often filled with lovely cooking scenes. With both Jim and Blair a little short-changed in the “traditional” department when they were young, I can see them taking such a family-oriented holiday and doing it up right. Since I won’t be driving next month, I thought I’d share these two tasty Thanksgiving stories. There’s one from the viewpoint of each guy with Jim’s story, as you might expect, being a little more poignant. We get to share memories of Thanksgivings Past as the guys prepare for their first time hosting Thanksgiving as a couple. These should be read in order. Traditional Thanksgivings Traditional Thanksgivings – Jim’s story If you enjoy the stories, don’t forget to let the author know! Cheers.

Fandom: NCIS Pairing: Ziva David/ Jennifer Shepard Length: over 1000 words Author on LJ: llyfrgellAuthor Website: None that I know other than the Author‘s journal Why this must be read: Well for one thing because there just aren’t that many Ziva/Jenny stories out there, and this is a very good one. Ziva and Jenny are not so much opposites as just different from each other. And llyfrgell takes these differences (ie: black hair and red hair) and weaves them into her story. Neither character is known to be a warm cuddly person but the author does show us each one's very real, human and quite sexy side. And if I am not in error, it is one of the few times Jennifer Shepard ever admits to making a mistake. Ahmar wa Aswad

Sorry for the NCIS deluge. Somehow, October has gotten away from me. Maybe it is the new stove. Fandom: NCIS Pairing: Leroy Jethro Gibbs/ Donald “Ducky” Mallard Length: 726 words Author on LJ: sharpiesgal Author Website: None that I know other than the Author‘s journal Why this must be read: When I first read this story, I did the *happy dance* Team Gibbs had won the duel. Even though they were separated, they did it on their own terms. And Gibbs and Ducky retiring together, as it should be. (*eyes* tptb) Time To Move On

Fandom: CW RPF Pairing: Jared Padalecki/Jensen Ackles Length: 3,400 words, Author on LJ: [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]Author Website: RPF on LJWhy this must be read:A Friends AU, lighthearted and with crackling dialog. Jared is the Joey character and Jensen a version of Chandler and this fic is stuffed full of one-liners that will have you snickering all the way through. A genuine pleasure of a read. Fandom: SUPERNATURAL Pairing: Dean/OFC Length: 4,900 words Author on LJ: mabohemeAuthor Website: fanfic tag Why this must be read:This is a sharp, gorgeous look at Dean over the years through the eyes of a girl he first meets when they're both fifteen. He's her first everything, really. Kiss. Grope. Fuck. She's probably none of his firsts, but that's okay. She doesn't mind being somewhere in the undefined middle.
::
That first kiss is messy; all tongues and no finesse, stringy spit and clanking teeth. It tastes like orange pop and Doritos.
When they fuck, it's a little better. Hurts a lot more, but she's use to pain. Georgia is a vivid, sharply-drawn original character, and the way her life intersects with Dean's is interesting not just because of what it tells us about him, but also because of what it tells us about her. Fandom: Doctor Who Pairing: Ten/Rose Length: Short Fic Author on LJ: sandsdreamAuthor Website: Unknown Why this must be read:This is just a lovely little fic that deftly explores that infamous statement, "she knows," from The Satan Pit. sandsdream puts a nice little AU spin on it and effectively explores the Doctor's thoughts and feelings behind the words and I highly recommend this piece. Fandom: DC COMICS Pairing: Clark/Dick, or rather, Tom Wayne/Dick Grayson (Blackjack/Nightwing); Tim/Kon implied Length: medium: 4000 words Author on LJ: ethrosdemonAuthor Website: the bibliotequeWhy this must be read:Clark raised as a Bat--oh so creepy and wrong, or frickin' awesome...or both? *g* You decide. I picked this one because it showcases the amazing potential for alternate realities, which is canon in comics fandoms. The Nature of Family

Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin, Illya Kuryakin/OMC Length: 20,179 words Author on LJ: cousinnatAuthor Website: File Forty Why this must be read:I know I've already recced a story by Nataliya this month, but I stumbled across this one whilst going through File 40 and I wanted to share it with you all. It's a honeytrap story, with Illya as the bait. Normally I dont like these types of stories, but this one is rather well done. The emotional turmoil going on inside Illya's head is well written, and both boys' characters are spot on throughout. Basic plot here is that UNCLE needs to blackmail a homosexual scientist who's working with THRUSH to persuade him to give some information. Illya is sent in to seduce him whilst Napoleon records the encounter in an attempt to blackmail said scientist. Illya is nervous about the assignment, but Napoleon is there to back him up. Good drama, quite a detailed plot and description of Chicago, plus throughout the story the boys relationship stays true. The Chicago Affair

Fandom: TORCHWOOD Pairing: Jack/Ianto Length: 6,000 words Author on LJ: ivy03Author Website: Ivy's Master Fic ListWhy this must be read:Ok, this blew me away when I first read it - I can't really talk about the plot much without spoiling it, but really, trust me, the twist is a corker. I think the thing I loved about this fic the most was the fact that Jack and Ianto in particular, but Owen and Gwen too, are so fantastically in character. Ianto is bitter and a bit broken, but sensible and dealing with his troubles the best way he knows how, and Jack is oblivious to the nuances but not meaning to be cruel. They're both doing the best they can, it just so happens that sometimes their best is so tragic, in the most heart-breaking way. ( Read more... )Half the Battle
