Fandom: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (NEW)
Pairing: Baltar/Caprica-Six
Length: 2,389 words

Why this must be read:

I consider this *essential* reading for anyone who ships Gaius/Six, and worthwhile for anyone else who at least finds their relationship compelling and wonders what it was like prior to all the betrayal and accidental genocide. Through five scenes, it traces their early relationship on the Colonies and explores the captivating mystery she must have seemed from Gaius' point of view. His voice and observations are very in-character, and so is the witty and delicate banter between them. Caprica-Six's own happiness and longing also come through really well, through his eyes and the blanks we fill in. It's gorgeously written and so utterly them, and the ending is a killer.

Why this must be read: This a cracky story, but in the most amazing, awesome way. [livejournal.com profile] malnpudl once rather famously said: Hugh's hotness is so great, it defies the laws of physics. That's really, really hot. It makes him dangerous, but he can't really help it. And then _unhurt_ wrote it. *g* Title from the Headstones song Physics. I did mention we have a penchant for using their lyrics as song titles, right? Well, this one fits perfectly.

Small taste of _unhurt_'s genius... )

Pairing: John/Mary

Why this must be read: This is one of those great AUs that does things that you wish Show would do, even though it couldn’t. The story posits what would have happened if, after the events of ‘In the Beginning’ Mary had told John everything about everything. It is a fantastic story that shows Mary and John at their fullest, both their best and worst, while the plot pulls you along breathlessly to the end and beyond. It is truly great.

12:47 pm Breaking Down the Complex Machine by lionessvalenti (PG-13)
Fandom: TORCHWOOD
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Tosh, Jack
Length: ~3600 words.
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] lionessvalenti
Author Website: [livejournal.com profile] blackfic, lionessvalenti on AO3
Why this must be read:

This is a lovely Tosh-POV coda to 'Cyberwoman', where Tosh doesn't know what's happened to Ianto and is understandably suspicious of Jack and his secrets.

Excerpt: "Just a precaution," Jack said, when he spotted her eyeing the lock. He had no idea her mind had already jumped to its own conclusions.

He reached into his left trouser pocket and retrieved a very full, heavy looking key-ring (no wonder he always wore both a belt and braces). What were all those keys for? Why did he need them all? Jack had every electronic lock in the Hub -- which was most of the locks -- programmed into his wrist strap. How many mysterious padlocks were there scattered around the Hub as "precautions"

Why this must be read: Because it shows, within ATF 'verse, how something that could have broken Chris and Vin's friendship only makes it stronger in the end. Chris actually realizes where Vin had come from, and Vin learn a couple of new thing, too:). The dynamics of the team as a whole is also painted nicely; of course Chris and Vin are the main characters, but Buck and Ezra have their good piece as well.
