Why this must be read:

Why yes, I also like computer games (including the behind the scenes aspects), so it’s no wonder this fic made my list. Jared (or to be more specific, JT) is a jaded games reviewer, and Jensen is developing a computer game (with a concept that will sound very familiar) that could be the hottest new game ever. They meet and sparks fly. However, while Jensen knows about JT – he’s pretty much the make-it-or-break-it reviewer - he has no idea that JT and Jared are one and the same.

Full of great dialogue, smoking sex, a decent-sized dose of angst, and an overall great story (plus a game I want in RL, darnit), if you’re wanting a nice long story to settle in with, look no further.

Why this must be read: This story is a palette of colours, both warm and cool. It details five summers throughout Gene's life, from when he was a child, to his honeymoon, to a holiday during the dissolution of his marriage. It finishes on a touching scene between Gene and Sam, wherein I defy anyone to not go, 'n'awwwww'. Nepthys writes beautifully and this piece is no exception. It is full of quiet truths and compelling and insightful characterisation.

Why this must be read:

This story never fails to lift my spirits and make me laugh.  It is a lighthearted story about the Mulder and Scully relationship after the birth of their son, William.  There are many wonderful flashbacks to when they first became lovers and it's told from Mulder's POV, which is always a delight in my book.  The author perfectly captures his quirky sense of humor and the wonderful, classic banter between them.  A funny story to enjoy before my next rec, which is much, much darker.
