09:37 am Learning Curve by JLB (PG-13)
Well, I have reached by 12th rec and that is the max I am allowed to post.  I could've continued for another 12, but alas, it is time to stop.  I have enjoyed posting stories for Crack Van this month.  I hope you have enjoyed the stories and perhaps found something you haven't read before.  Keep reading the wonderful, never ending amount of X-Files fan fics out there and share the love.  This is a marvelous fandom.

Fandom: The X-Files
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: Vignette
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: JLB's Fan Fiction
Why this must be read:

JLB is one of my favorite authors.  I had a hard time picking just one to post, but Learning Curve stood out as my favorite.  I love this story and read it again and again whenever I am in the mood for a pick-me-up.  It's a wonderful look at how Mulder and Scully's relationship changed after they became lovers, but somehow remained the same.  It's from Scully's POV and I consider it a brilliant glimpse into how she thinks, while also being wonderfully entertaining and funny.  Definitely an enjoyable read.

10:25 am And Always Shall Be...by Flamingo (G)
Fandom: STARSKY AND HUTCH
Pairing: none
length: 4283 words
author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] flamingoslim
author's website: http://starskyhutcharchive.net/viewuser.php?uid=3

Why this must be read: Flamingo writes gen, who knew? If I'd read this story earlier in the month, it could have been my cross-over rec. Starsky and Hutch go see the reboot Star Trek and compare their lives to Spock and Kirk with both funny and thought provoking parallels. A lovely testament to a long term friendship.

05:48 pm Dirty Laundry by The_sandwalker (G)
Fandom: DOCTOR WHO
Pairing: Nine, Rose
Length: 1900
Author on LJ:t[livejournal.com profile] the_sandwalker

Why this must be read:

It's a funny fic about laundry!
Laundry is one of the most boring things on the face of the planet. Unless you're really sick that is. Then it is entertaining as all get out. Watching it go around and around...

Sandwalker has written an entertaining little look into doing laundry on the TARDIS and why Rose will always choose to do it at home.

The Doctor stared at her curiously. “Rose, where have you been? I’ve been calling for you for over an hour.”
Rose blinked. “Didn’t hear you. Don’t you have an intercom or something on this ship?”
“No. What are you doing?”
She shifted her weight under the rapidly-falling-apart bundle of washing in her arms, praying to any god that would listen that her knickers weren’t within his eyesight. “Looking for the laundry,” she said, “what’s it look like?”
“Looks like you dropped a pair of knickers behind you,” he nodded to something past her shoulder and folded his arms, leaning against the side of the corridor. “Laundry’s just through there.”

07:34 pm The Moths And The Bees by cryforthemoon (R)
Fandom: WATCHMEN
Pairings: Byron/Bill
Length: 1497
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] cryforthemoon
Author Website: http://strapsandstars.livejournal.com/19644.html
Why this must be read: Quite unapologetically, simply because it's cute and fluffy. There's not enough happy Byron/Bill fic. And this one's also hot. Let's face it, when Byron's in a bed with Bill and reading, that's one of his elements.
