An AU in which Mark is still Mark, but he's a single parent in need of a nanny that isn't going to hit on him. So he decides on a manny, and doesn't Eduardo just fill that position nicely?

This is such a lovely fic, so I saved it for Christmas Eve, when you just want all things nice.

Now Mark opens his lunch box at work and finds rice made up to look like little pandas.

And he always opens the damn box, because it’s there, and the cafeteria is too far away, and so is the minifridge on the opposite side of his office, and he has the lunch box or the red bull in the bottom drawer to choose from. And the rice pandas always win, because they are somehow really, really tasty.

And Eduardo always packs a few twizzlers as well, even though, he says, they clash with his vision.

“We could paint them over with food colouring, they could be bamboo,” Jess perks up. Her lunch is made up to look like some cartoon cats from whatever thing she watches now. She’s taken to googling various lunch boxes ideas and making Eduardo try them out with her.

“I draw the line at pretend bamboo,” Mark mutters darkly and Eduardo nods at him.

“I agree. If you were to draw the line, this is right where you should do it.”

Why this must be read: A long time ago in a galaxy far away ... no, it's not a Star Wars crossover, it's better! The Inception team is hired to extract information from a huge Star Wars fan, and what could be cooler than getting to play parts from the movie (the original movies *cough*) in a dream? Except because it's a dream, the team plays a bit fast and loose with characterization, dialogue, plot, etc. What results is a hilarious parody of Star Wars with Eames as Han Solo, Dom Cobb as Darth Vader (because he's the only one who's a father, after all), Ariadne as Princess Leia, Yusuf as someone who's not supposed to be in the original film, and Arthur as ... well, not C-3PO, much to Eames' chagrin.

The team's relying on the fact that a lot can be explained away by it being a dream, but no one quite anticipated things like trying to get information out of a droid (what do all those buttons do?), trying to explain away Darth Vader's sudden appearance on the Millennium Falcon, or that Arthur would kind of like being swung across a trench by Eames (a la Prince Leia).

If you love the original trilogy, you'll love this, plain and simple. It's clear that the author loves the films as much as she loves the characters from Inception. May the Force be with you.

Why this must be read:

Today my country celebrates christmas so it's the perfect time to rec this fic. You could call it a crossover but it's more a fic where Alex and Justin use a spell and meet so the characters of a well-known christmas movie. I'm a huge fan of this movie and watch it again every year so you can't imagine how happy I was to find this fic. Especially because I sometimes have the same wish/problem like Justin... But no, I don't want to spoil the fic.

But even if you don't know the movie (which you should really change! try to watch it in the next days!) the fic gives you a slightly warm fluffy feeling of christmas and you will have no problem to follow the storyline.
save_vs_magic describes beautiful the scenery with the snow, the coldness and Alex who wants to wear the new winter collection and Justin who trys to fit in. The dialogue between Justin and Alex and later between them and the villain of the movie are perfect. Funny and IC and nevertheless charming.

This is really a cute fic who shows perfect the sense of christmas... or that what Alex understands by this.

Tomorrow is Christmas Day, and so here's a present a little early: an Inception Christmas fic. Enjoy!

Why this must be read: Delires is known for the Chav!verse, but I'm particularly fond of this Christmas fic. Arthur and Eames inadvertently develop a Christmas tradition of sorts when they end up spending one Christmas after another together (under extenuating circumstances) until Eames isn't quite sure if they have a Christmas thing or a Christmas thing. The story goes back and forth between the present, where Eames is trying to sort out what to get Arthur for Christmas and whether to get together with him, and the past four Christmases ... in Hong Kong, in a snow-filled ditch in Russia, in Las Vegas, and an awkward moment in New York.

The story's compelling because it's never certain what the outcome will be. You've got to feel for Eames in this scenario, and Arthur too in a way--neither of them is particularly good at the relationship thing and making a leap of faith is a tremendous risk. The dialogue is brilliant - this is Eames and Arthur as I like them best. Smart and contradictory, colleagues but also friends, guys who can appreciate the importance of having someone who understands their lives, and yet, still be a bit vulnerable.

Is their fifth Christmas the one that works out? You'll have to read the story to find out.
