I seem to be on a kick with the short and sweet slashtastic this weekend. I'll roll with it. Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE Pairing: Illya/Napoleon Length: so very short and sweet Author on LJ: jessebeeAuthor Website: some here at Chrome&Gunmetal and even MORE (yay!) here at AO3Why this must be read: Why is there not MORE of this author out there in the world? I don't know either, but there needs to be. SRSLY. Jesse knows how to bring the hawt and the yum and the thud to the party. In this little scene our boys are beautiful and loving and still who we know them to be, men who see danger every day and get the job done. And each other. get a little mussedAnd please remember, if you enjoy this story, a comment to the author is all the payment they get! Show them some love!

Fandom: THE SENTINEL/The Bill Pairing: Blair/Gilmore Jim/Blair Gilmore/Ashton Length: 20431 words Author on LJ: sioux_s Author Website: http://archiveofourown.org/users/Sioux/pseuds/Sioux Why this must be read: - Blair is shot and seriously injured by an armed robber; eight months later, Jim takes a still-recovering Blair to England for a holiday. There, they become friendly with Craig Gilmore from the local police training school. Some stories are so action-oriented that a reader is rushed along, totally breathless, without getting any chance to appreciate just what's happening. Not so with this one. It's a nice balanced mixture of gentle action with character interaction which makes for good, varied pacing. Although I'm a Brit, I'd never watched The Bill (a police series set in London) so I knew nothing about Craig Gilmore and Luke Ashton, but it's very easy to think of them as OCs. Although it was written a while ago and posted to a list for The Bill, it was only recently posted to AO3 and listed for The Sentinel, and it's our gain that it is. A Christmas Miracle

Today is the 15th of the month, which means Crack Van Collisions, a.k.a. cross-over day. Drivers, you may rec one fic that crosses over your fandom with another (no, this does not count against your maximum). Please post crossovers in the following format: Subject: Fandom/Fandom (Rating) Title: Title by Author Pairing: (no abbreviations, please) Author on LJ:Author Website:Why this must be read:(link to story) tags: fanfic, crossover, fandom, fandom, etc. Thanks, all!

Fandom: WHITE COLLAR Pairing: Elizabeth/Peter Length: short Author on LJ: copperbadgeAuthor Website: Sam's FanficWhy this must be read: This story focuses solely on El and Peter and the sense of adventurousness they like to keep in their relationship. Peter and El's relationship is one of the few canon ones I truly enjoy. Copperbadge found a perfect and very hot way to write about it. Bankrobber

Fandom: Stargate Atlantis/Sherlock Pairing: John Watson/John Sheppard Length: 1,778 Author on LJ: mad_maudlinAuthor Website: None that I know of. Why this must be read: Two officers meet at an international air base in Afghanistan... okay, that's enough. Go read it now. More? *sigh * Seriously, it's a well thought out, very short piece that that tells us about two men whose paths cross in an airbase a long way from home and how they spend a few hours together. Normally, I shy away from fanfic that hooks up two characters from different shows just so they can have sex with one another but this one caught my eye and my fancy. It's believable, if only in a fanfic kind of way, and both men are very much in character. I just found it to be delightful and hope you do too. Don't Tell

Title: Don't Ever Look Back Characters: Barriss Offee, Ahsoka Tano Length: ~2000 words Author on LJ: themacunleashedAuthor Website: FFN ProfileWhy this must be read:Long-lived franchises have delighted fans forever, and in between the cracks of Fabulous Source Material, Spin Offs, Filmed Versions, Novelizations-of-the-Movie, Television Versions and Ice Show Versions, fall the little bits that we love all the more because they show true imagination. Coming from the early prequel novel The Approaching Storm, Jedi Master Luminara Unduli's Padawan, Barriss Offee, is approximately Anakin Skywalker's age, and they share a camaraderie in the book that has given rise to some ficcage. Coming from the more recent Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV show, Barriss approaches Anakin's Padawan's age, she and Ahsoka being approximately 15 and it is in this reality that the story occurs. From the friendship we see in the TV program, themacunleashed reveals a very special relationship between the two girls as they fight a war in which they should not have to shoulder responsibilities. So who can blame them if they want to escape and go clubbing? Not I. It's poignant and very much in character with the established TV canon. Don't Ever Look Back

Very entertaining. Five Ways Crime Does Pay

Title: Dimensionally Challenged by Amy Pairing: Peter Parker/Xander Harris/Spike Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: Wings of Imagination via the Wayback MachineWhy this must be read:Quick and dirty rec... I have 7 minutes before it is no longer the 15th, lol. This was totally my favorite crossover fic, oh, 10ish years ago. I had to DIG to unearth this little gem. Spider-man ends up thrown out of the Marvel Universe and into the Buffyverse, where Xander and Spike (who are already in a relationship) take him under their wing. Beware, there is a bit of Buffy-bashing here, but I love it too much to care. Heck, this is so good that it's probably been recommended on Crack Van before, but I seem to have broken LJ when I went back over 200 entries under the tags, and that barely got me back six years. Anywho, go read it! :D Dimensionally Challenged by Amy
