As a longtime lurker, this is my first time driving the van.  It was part of my New Year’s resolution to let the authors and podficcers who create so many wonderful stories know that they are appreciated and admired.  And I think this month will be a grand opportunity to do just that for the many, many, many talented writers in the Inception fandom.

This last weekend was happily spent re-reading old favorites and finding new gems to share in the Inception fandom.  I should note that I ship almost exclusively Arthur/Eames and fall heavily onto the Team Romance side of the fence.  And looking over my lists, you will probably be seeing a lot of AUs.  I am also a podfic addict and proud of it.  In many cases I heard the story before reading it myself and the readers have colored my love of many stories.  Inception fandom is blessed with some prodigiously talented podficcers that I plan to rec as well.  Now on to the reccing!

Why this must be read: 

And to start the month of with a bang is Toomuchplor’s first story of her Steinway!verse.  Since it is by Toomuchplor it is a given that it is beautifully written with the characters of Arthur and Eames fully realized.  What makes this even better is that it is an AU set in a conservatory with Arthur being a talented young pianist and Eames the star baritone of the school.  A major joy in the series is that the power and beauty of music is as big a character as the boys are, and we get to see their talent and passion for their art.  And then add in some smoking hot sexy times as whip cream on top.  I am linking to the series page in AO3 because I cannot imagine anyone who reads the first story won’t go immediately on to devour the next 20 stories like I did.

The first story, Ach, das Knaben Augen is podficced, as is Je te veux.  Both by the beautifully voiced Pennyplainknits and Xenakis.  I do truly encourage you to listen with the music as it adds so much context for the stories.
