Why this must be read: Whenever I can find a Doctor/Sarah Jane fic to read, I'll most likely read it; there aren't a lot of Doctor/Sarah Jane fics out there. Why this must be read:

Because it's a gray world out there, and more than one world view. In this story by a very prolific and long time author (she's written under several names) Blair made some decisions as a vulnerable and lonely, and broke, teen college student. It almost ended in disaster for him, but he skated by, leaving him with one of those “But for the grace of God” realizations.

Now, eleven years later, a case is given to Major Crime that brings back those memories, and Blair has a new decision to make. Should he keep quiet or tell Jim and Simon about his past and how it ties into their current case? One thing he knows for sure: Jim is not going to like or agree with Blair's reasons for that long ago decision.

On a personal note, I was asked to make the same decision as Blair made when I was a broke college student. I chose differently, but I did consider it, and it was a great values clarification exercise. Glacis explores Blair's reasons for saying yes, and Jim's for not agreeing with him. And as a reader, I had to think it through to decide if I agreed with Blair, or with Jim. There was a lot of tension as I read to see if this case was going to break them apart or bring them closer.


Summary: A current case opens the doors to Blair's past and creates a new dynamic in the Sentinel/Guide relationship.

In a lot of fics seems that the only thing Mark is doing for FB is coding, going to gala and treating to fire people. This fic is one of the few where is bring up the issue of what Mark does at work. Plus broken feeling, reconciliation with Wardo (and with a very good analyzing of his character by Mark POV), etc...

This fic just tore my heart out. It's all about Lyta's fight for her humanity, to be recognized as something more than just a tool in the hands of the Corps/the Vorlons/the Alliance after she's played the part they want in their wars. It's also about Lyta and John Sheridan's mutual connection to Kosh, and how Lyta clings to that--and John's simple kindnesses--as a way to find that human connection again. There's a long, slow buildup of sexual tension, but it isn't just porn for the sake of porn. Read this for a fantastic character study of Lyta Alexander, or for the hotness amidst the angst, or for both!

Why this must be read:
To explain, Word and Deed, Looked Forward Long, and The Exhortation of St. Paul are three linked stories. They go together, but the order you read them in will affect the arc. I have listed them in order of publication. Another way of explaining them could be that there is one story with two sequels: parallel, not co-existing. 

What I know for certain is that they are beautifully written, sharp, heady and painful. It's the kind of writing that makes my heart pound. The stories map with utmost delicacy Hathaway's emotional state: in regard to Lewis, himself, and Laura. The dialogue is perfection, completely in character and unexpectedly funny. My heart aches for Hathaway, my heart rises when his does.
