Extract from the author's summary: I feel pretty strongly that the second half of Naruto diverted all the momentum of the first half, where what I wanted to see was what would happen if it speeded up instead. This arc is an AU of canon, in which Kakashi dealt with Sasuke differently after the first fight with Itachi and Sasuke never left Konoha. Changes spiral off from that point.
This is also the arc where I change all the things that truly made me tear my hair in canon, such as the carbon copy generations, the sidelining of the women, the apotheosis of Naruto as a solitary hero, and Itachi turning out to not be a villain. So none of that happens. Why this must be read: I often get the feeling when following my favourite stories, whether that be through manga or TV or movies, that if the characters just used some common sense, events would never have unravelled the way they did. Avalanche is a series which, in my opinion, plays out
Naruto assuming half the characters hadn't been hit with the stupid stick and that they would make sane, rational and adult decisions. The result is a fascinating and fast-moving set of stories which showcase the best of pretty much all the cast, and takes the time to delve into Konoha politics, a subject which I adore when handled properly. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And remember to feed the author.
