Why this must be read: - Blair keeps having a nightmare...

Blair!shaman stories rate high among my favourites (even though the abilities different writers give to him differ quite markedly). In this one he gets premonitions, and realizes that he must act to try to prevent what he is 'seeing' from happening.

Fandom: STAR WARS
Character: Aunt Beru
Length: 2769 words

Why this must be read:

On a holiday weekend devoted to food (mostly), this author shows how food is tied to love and giving and memories. Aunt Beru is baking on this momentous day, her thoughts interwoven with her work, and the way things play out will leave you pleasantly wrung out. A powerful story about a character who is often overlooked, Beru Whitesun Lars.

05:07 pm The Penultimate Problem by random_nexus (PG to NC-17)
Fandom: SHERLOCK BBC
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Length: 18,370 words

Author Website: AO3
Why this must be read: Because it is an apocalypse-light story that is sweepingly romantic. Random_nexus is one of the best writers in the fandom. The plotting and characters are creative and complex. Even if you are not a fan of post apocalypse stories, you should give this one a try. There is angst, but overall I find the Penultimate Problem very uplifting and hopeful. The way random_nexus writes Sherlock and John’s tremendous love and devotion to each other is so gorgeous and very sexy.

Why this must be read: This story is simply beautiful: post SR, case story, love story, happy ending. In the wake of "Sweet Revenge", Starsky and Hutch go undercover on California's Catalina Island, giving Starsky a chance to shine as he regains his stride and self-confidence while working the case. Hutch, who finds it hard to let go, discovers that his partner is back -- and better than ever.

"Hutch, get the phone," Starsky mumbled. "Hutch..." The telephone continued its shrill and incessant ring, and finally Starsky rolled over and dragged the receiver from its cradle. "Hmnl..." he breathed, incoherently.

"Mr. Hutch?"

"I'm, no, um..." Starsky opened his eyes, ready to hand off the ever-annoying Mr. Quigley to his lazy partner, but when his eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, he realized he was alone. "Um..." he yawned, "Mr. Quigley, Hutch isn't here, he must have gone out for something to eat. What can I do for you? What time is it?"

"No, no, it's you I want, not Mr. Starsky," Quigley said, insistently. "I'm calling about Mr. Starsky."

The dark haired detective wasn't sure whether to be amused or annoyed so, keeping his voice neutral, he said simply, "What about him?"

"I'm afraid something dreadful has happened to him."
