Note from Van Driver: I have thoroughly enjoyed driving the van this month and hope to drive The Sentinel Van again this year. I can also say that I have learned more computer coding during this month than in an entire college course. Maybe next time I will even learn to do a video. I hope that you enjoyed what I recommended and didn’t mind all of the crossovers. Thanks for letting me drive and a very special Thank You to magician113 for patiently answering soo many questions and being so nice.

Why this must be read: Oh My GOD!! I saved what I consider the Best for last! How can I put how I feel about this story without writing a huge page? I have to start by pointing out the extremely excellent writing. I was quickly drawn into the story and it never let me go till the end. Even the non canon characters came alive to me and became dear. The emotions are HUGE and I went through two boxes of tissues. I highly suggest NOT reading the warnings at the top of the link page and leaving yourself to experience the emotions as they pour into you.
This story does contain the death of a major character, and some other possibly ‘triggery’ situations. My suggestion, just read on, this story is SOO worth it. Just keep tissues nearby! This story is a testament to true friendship and pure love so save this on a thumb drive forever!
Summary: by author: When Dawson Quinn escapes from prison, he has one thing on his mind: revenge on Jim. But it's Blair that pays the price.

Why this must be read:

I am not a fan of hurt/comfort, which puts me outside the mainstream of Starsky & Hutch fandom. For h/c to work for me, it has to be a plausible part of the plot that adds to a larger conflict, not the be-all and end-all of the story. Distant Shores is one of the few novels that rely heavily on h/c that does work for me. In 2003, KimberlyFDR rec'd Distant Shores while it was only available in zine form. DS was published as a stand-alone novel in 1991. Author April Valentine worked on it for over six years, doing painstaking hard copy research long before Google was a glimmer on the horizon. The published novel had a color cover and 24 additional pieces of original hand drawn black and white art by some of the best artists working in the fandom at that time. We have finally managed to bring this 451 page epic novel to the archive through the efforts of many fans.
In Distant Shore's story line... )
