I've been a fan of thehoyden for quite some time now, and I have yet to find a story of theirs, any fandom, that I don't enjoy.  When they decided to dip into the Teen Wolf fandom, I was ecstatic, even more so after I read it.  "Darling It Is No Joke" is based on the premise that Derek's family did not die in a fire, but moved away instead, the story beginning with Derek's return into Stiles life as a deputy.  thehoyden's characterization of the characters is spot on, and I especially enjoyed Derek's character, still inherently Derek without the sharper edges of left by the loss of his family.

Why this must be read: Charlotte Frost is a classic fanfiction writer of unimpeachable style. Some hallmarks of her stories are strong writing, elements of surprise and tenderness, hurt/comfort, realistic interpretations, and the confidence of a storyteller comfortable with her own vision and voice. She is also a returning conqueror, because she has found her way back to writing S&H after a hiatus. I was one of the many who welcomed her reentry with delight.

In "Protect," the guys wander into a dangerous situation, where consequences of wrong decisions could spell certain death. Even with such high stakes, their concern is for one another. When a bad guy action (this is a really bad guy, a jumping off point from canon) unleashes a buried memory in Hutch, Starsky is right there to protect his partner. Protecting one another, against the world and against the odds, is a true theme in their relationship. "Protect" gives us a satisfying view into this basic and beautiful part of who they are.

Why this must be seen: My first rec is an art!
I chose this one, because it’s perfect. We can see the two warriors in unusually peaceful moment (for them) and the coloring, lighting and atmosphere makes this moment incredibly special. You can just feel how close to each other they are and why their trust makes them such a wonderful team.
