07:43 am Heartspeak & Soulspeak by Ysone (PG-13)
Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: None, Gen
Length: 10’547 and 14’205 words
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: Ysone’s Fanfic & Stuff

Author’s Summary:
One story, told from two points of view. Heartspeak, the first part, is told from Blair's perspective as he overhears a conversation that is not intended for his ears. Soulspeak, Jim's side of the story, attempts to show that things aren't always as they seem. Should be read together and in order.

Why this must be read:
If you like angst then this is a worthwhile read for you. In the aftermath of what Blair’s overheard he makes a conscious effort to fit into the role described by Jim (and the gang) and becomes the quiet and obedient man he thinks they want, in the meantime, Jim struggles to connect and understand what’s wrong with his partner as he deals with a difficult case. For me, the main appeal of this story (apart from the angst obviously) was the storytelling style. Instead of the usual flitting between POV’s in one lengthy story we got to see a good chunk of the storyline unfold from one perspective and then once it hit a pivotal moment, it switched viewpoint; the result imo is a more intense and personal experience, one which projects the character’s anguish, behaviour and reactions in a realistic and heartfelt manner.

Length: 1000 words

05:47 pm Journey Onward by wendymr (PG 13)
Fandom: DOCTOR WHO & TORCHWOOD
Pairing: Gen
Length: 40k
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] wendymr

Why this must be read:
Sometimes the hardest journeys to make are the familiar ones.

Post Journey's End’s end, from the Doctor’s POV. One’s who’s dropped off all him companions and now feels a little alone. So he keeps dropping by Torchwood, where Jack’s collected Martha and Micky and maybe he learns to stay in touch with friends who aren’t traveling with him anymore. It’s some lovely friendship fic. Plus, a fix-it for one companion’s ending in Journey's End.

05:57 pm And a Bed for Three by lady_ragnell (NC-17)
Fandom: MERLIN
Pairing: Merlin/Freya, Merlin/Freya/Arthur, Gwen/Morgana
Length: 19k+
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] lady_ragnell
Author Website: AO3
Why this must be read:
Arthur is back in London after two years away, but it's hard to settle in when he can't stop thinking about Merlin and Freya. Who are already together. He's fairly certain this isn't normal.

A fantastically constructed threesome fic. Arthur comes back home after a long stay abroad to find everyone around him a little changed by time. Maybe he's having a little trouble readjusting. But then he’s introduced to Merlin & Freya and is drawn to each of them, both as individuals and as a couple. It has a great navigation of Arthur’s mindset as he tries to deal with his attractions.

06:06 pm Good Fences by tzigane & Zaganthi (Caffiends) (NC-17)
Fandom: HAVEN
Pairing: Audrey/Nathan/Duke
Length: 6393
Author on LJ:
Author Website: tzigane ‘s AO3 , Zaganthi ‘s AO3
Why this must be read:
In a place like Haven, it wasn't just good fences that made good neighbors.

Someone in Haven using their Trouble for good! Or, at least, trying to keep Nathan from being lonely by engineering situations to get him together with those lovely people he has all that chemistry with.
Fun, lighthearted, and slight silly in a good way. It provides a nice use of an outsider’s pov where it seems like some of the people in Haven want to look out for each other. And clichéd situations leading to threesomes can be a lot of fun.

06:24 pm Walking Back to Happiness by whiplash (PG-13)
Fandom: HAVEN
Pairing: Audrey/Duke/Nathan
Length: 3618
Author on LJ:
Author Website: AO3
Why this must be read:
They seduce each other. More or less.

I think this is technically a WIP, but it hasn't been updated since 2011, and it's not like the fic is lacking an ending.
This is a collection of snippets between the trio- conversations, moments, thoughts- in different variations (pairings, singles, trio) in different moods. It shows the highs and lows of their relationship and it is gorgeously written. No actual plot, but great character exploration.

08:38 pm For King and Country by killalla (PG 13)
Fandom: PERSON OF INTEREST
Pairing: Harold Finch & John Reese
Length: 3.2k
Author on LJ:[livejournal.com profile] killalla
Author Website: AO3, meme_of_interest
Why this must be read: Person of Interest has generated a lot of AUs, some more successful than others, this is one of the best. Don't be put of by the fact that it is an AU. It is a wonderful fusion of Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy Series and Person of Interest. I found that it didn't matter that I knew nothing about the Lord Darcy series, killalla manages to spin a very compelling tale, that is excellently paced and very much in character. My only complaint is that it was not longer.

Extract: “Who I am is not important,” his captor gasped, glancing down at the arm which was applying slow and steady pressure to his windpipe. “The question, King’s Agent, is who you are without your commission, and who you want to be now that it is gone.”
