Fandom: THE LIZZIE BENNET DIARIES
Pairing: Lizzie Bennet/William Darcy
Length: 6932 words
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: AO3
Why this must be read: This isn't quite a songfic (although the bits with song lyrics are actually really well done), but the prose still maintains a lyrical quality throughout, and the Darcy POV is nicely done--it adds to canon without infringing on it. Enjoy!

It might be a bit cliché to him, but for once, he doesn't mind. )

Why this vid must be seen:I'm indulging just a little because I practically demanded that Laura make this vid, so she did. For me. And it makes me grin ear to ear with every single viewing. The ultimate song lyrics for Starsky and Hutch, in my opinion, and a vid that will get you up on your feet dancing and singing along.

05:53 pm "Phlox is a flower, not a disease!" by starsystems (PG13)
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Pairing: Derek/Stiles
Length: 5,676
Author Website: starsystems
Author's Summary: Derek has a loft apartment. Stiles brings him flowers. To cheer the place up a bit, you know. It's not like he's buying Derek flowers or anything. (Erica hates that kind of thing, Boyd despairs over everything and Isaac just wants to eat Doritos and watch basketball in peace, thanks.)
Why this must be read: This is a sweet mix of oblivious/misunderstandings with a particularly wonderful but quietly exasperated Boyd.

08:16 pm Loving Captain Ellison by Romslinger (NC-17)
Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: 49’965 words
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: Archived on 852 Prospect

Authors Summary:
Graduate student Blair Sandburg gets more than he bargained for when he buys a 1969 Ford pick-up.

Why this must be read:
This is an AU love story where Jim's given an opportunity to get out of purgatory to help Blair find a Sentinel; if he succeeds and Blair’s able to get the first chapter of his thesis in on time Jim will be rewarded with his heart desire. For me, the storyline was a big part of this story’s appeal as was the budding friendship/romance between the guys, as well as the way both men dismissed the clues about Jim being a Sentinel because they thought they were a facet of being ghost; but the most memorable aspect was the way in which the author made me bounce between is Jim really a ghost or is something else going on here? This is an entertaining and enjoyable read with some lovely splashes of humour and angst thrown in for good measure.

Amy's mind holds a living mental image and anything that holds the image of angel becomes an angel.

Aaaaand the Weeping Angels just got a whole lot creepier.

This is just brilliantly executed horror, and it just elevates the "The Time of Angels" / "Flesh and Stone" episodes to something that might put your teeth on edge. The juxtaposition of the adapted lullaby with Amy Pond looking so young lost really makes it seem like she's walking through a forest of monsters- and the song makes The Doctor seem so much creepier as well.

Why this vid must be viewed:

I was going to go for something that was a little more trio balanced and I had a gorgeous Audrey-centered OT3 one in mind, but simply put, I couldn't help myself because this is my favourite Haven fanvid- hands down.

It's just so much fun. The editing is fantastic, and it does a brilliant job exploring (and slashing) Nathan and Duke's relationship- both the good times (when they have each other's back) and the bad (when they beat each other up a whole lot). Plus all the times in between where they egg each other on or pull on each other's pigtails.
Plus, serious mellow character explorations can be done really well, but it seems like with someone who flaunts the 'rakish bad boy' image like Duke does, this song is just too perfect?

What if Arthur has hidden depths?

If you've already seen this vid, you probably know what I'm talking about.

You could be thinking- "What? Cheesy 80's pop?" And yes. It is that song by Heart. And if you don't mind that type of music, or secretly (or not so secretly) have a fondness for it, you could start this fanvid off thinking you could go along with it. Hey. Arthur seems broody or straining for deep thought (at least he's pretty)- it seems like it's working. The editing's great, the mood seems appropriate to the song.

And maybe it's when you get to the ~symbolism~ that is the unicorn, maybe you twig to it before then. The pure cheesy glory that is on display. Then come's the Dragon's solo and you pause the vid to laugh for a solid minute (or maybe that was just me) and realize that the vidder did this on a dare. And the rest of the vid becomes the best kind of cheesy emotional action-drama. Actually, the entire vid seems amazing and hilarious.

So. Watch this vid like you would watch your favourite 80's movies. All that heartfelt ~emotion~ and heroism and friendship/love on display is perfect for a show like Merlin. And maybe sing along. Because that just adds to the fun.

Why this vid must be seen:

Since May The Fourth Be With You Day is next week, what better time to enjoy a masterful a cappella tribute to the genius of film scores, John Williams? You may have seen this already - it's been around a while. But to get into the Galaxy Far, Far Away a week early, start by grooving to *did I say 'grooving'?* this unabashedly enthusiastic list of reasons why we love Star Wars. Pretty much based on the Original Trilogy, it is.
