Why this must be read: I love well written kink fic. This is not a secret by any means however I feel that I *have* to rec this one because not only is it well written it is also something that at first glance I would never have read. Two of the tags that are on it are 'first time' and 'angst' normally those two tags would send me running (especially in kink fic) but since I'd like other fic by this author I had to give this one a chance and I am so glad that I did. In this fic we have a RayK who likes to press his bruises and it is slowly driving Fraser out of his mind. The best part of this is not that the whole fic is told from Fraser's prospective, so we can see his slow descent into madness, but rather Deif. Deif steals the show in this one because he is so snarky and unapproving of Fraser's timidness when it comes to his desires with Ray.

Pairing: Leslie Knope/Ben Wyatt
Length: 13,101 words

Why this must be read: What starts as your typical "five times" AU fic spins quickly into something entirely atypical and entirely gorgeous, lyrical, and memorable. For those who thought the slow burn of Leslie and Ben's relationship in Season 3 was delicious, keep reading.

Simple version? Five conversations Leslie and Ben have in formal wear. (But of course life is always more complicated than that). )

Fandom: STAR WARS
Pairing: none
Length: 6k

Why this must be read:

Mischief and wry humor are the courses du jour. This story follows an unlikely narrator, Jocasta Nu, the caretaker of the Jedi Archives, throughout the course of the day. This particular day is a significant one for senior Padawans as it is the occasion of a contest of cunning and endurance that is held only once every seven years. It is set pre-TPM during Obi-Wan Kenobi's apprenticeship to Qui-Gon Jinn.

I simply cannot recommend Ruth's body of work strongly enough. Her prose is stunningly beautiful and elegant, her characterizations wonderfully accurate. She does not merely borrow characters from the GFFA and use them in her stories. She fleshes out the characters completely, and in doing so, adds something to the original portrayal that was not there before.
