11:39 am Mad Season by sian1359 (PG-13)
Fandom: AVENGERS
Pairing: Clint/Phil
Length: 24201
Author on LJ:
Author Website: Ao3
Why this must be read:
The World Security Council prefers Emil Blonsky in the Avengers Initiative, not Bruce Banner. SHIELD doesn't think that's a good idea.

Clint Barton is a badass. Little reason to dispute that. But S.H.I.E.L.D. wants him to be the line of defense as they try to transfer over Abomination. It’s a great use of a Hulk-type villain without hurting Bruce Banner. Featuring Coulson trying to oversee a shitshow of a mission, Tony Stark (and Rhody) being smartasses, Clint Barton: awesome agent, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s love-hate dependence on Tony Stark’s brilliance, and some fantastically handled action sequences.

Pairing: Arthur/Eames
Length: 47191

Why this must be read:
Arthur is an assassin hired to kill a seemingly unremarkable English actor named Eames, but a chance meeting has Arthur falling for his target instead.

The thing that I find great about Inception fic is how writers can spin insanely different and creative backgrounds for the character and still have it fit within the realm of canon in an ‘all roads lead to Rome” kind of way (with some tweaking). Here, Arthur is a silent deadly killer with a fun best friend in Ariadne (who doesn't know about his job). Eames is a charming brilliant actor who barely lets hints of his secret past sneak though, but he's certainty catches Arthur's attention. Then they all end up years later in Dream Share, performing inception like it was where they were supposed to end up.

ETA: For people who enjoy podfic, the AO3 has a link to that as well.

Fandom: TEEN WOLF
Pairing: Derek/Stiles
Length: 8245 words

Author Website: AO3
Summary: "Watching Stiles heal someone has always been a little uncomfortable for Derek, like he's seeing something intimate and private that shouldn't have an audience. That's nothing compared to how it feels." This is an AU in which Stiles has magical healing powers.

Why this must be read: I remember with perfect clarity when I first read this fic. My immediate reaction was "Holy shit." and then "I need to read that again", which clearly makes it an excellent rec. The story paints a complete and really interesting picture, and manages to fit in a lot of backstory without going into paragraphs of dry explanation.

DevilDoll is a fantastic writer in her own right (let's be real, all of the authors I'm reccing are) but this story stood out to me in particular for the different way it dealt with a popular trope (magical!Stiles) and the UST. Magical!Stiles stories are often about the way Stiles learns to deal with magic, but in this story he already has. And the UST, well, I don't need to say more than that it's a m a z i ng.

I swear, if you haven't read this before, you won't be disappointed.

He's hurting so bad, and even if Stiles can't help him, just seeing him, hearing his voice, letting the familiar smell of him crowd out the stench of his own blood, is a comfort. )

10:55 pm 'Clouds Across the Moon' by carleton97, rue_quercus (Sister_Wolf) - (Rating: Explicit)
It's my turn driving the Bandom van this month. Let's get started!

Fandom: BANDOM (MCR)
Pairing: Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
Length: (34K words)
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] carleton97, [livejournal.com profile] sister_wolf
Author Website: http://archiveofourown.org/users/carleton97/pseuds/carleton97 , http://archiveofourown.org/users/Sister_Wolf/pseuds/rue_quercus
Why this must be read: Follows werewolf Bob through meeting MCR, up to the 'Ghost of You' video.
Author Summary: What Bob had heard from the grapevine was that MCR's rhythm guitarist was small, hyper, and insane on the guitar. What the grapevine had obviously failed to mention was that Frank Iero was also a fucking vampire. Because normal people didn't actually believe things like vampires or werewolves or faeries or witches existed. Normal people were, in Bob's humble opinion, complete fucking idiots.

My review: I adore werewolf Bob, but sickly little anarchist vegan punk vampFrank totally stole the show ♥
