Fandom: MEN'S PROFESSIONAL TENNIS RPS
Pairing: Andy Murray/Rafael Nadal

Length: 2297
Why this must be read: If I had to pick one author who captures many pairings well, [livejournal.com profile] aramley would be my choice.  It was really really tough to pick but I opted for this one based on the pairing. This is my personal favorite combination of the Big 4 because of the way Andy has totally been idolizing Rafa for a very long time (if you don't believe this, listen to Andy's parents talk about Rafa's early role).   This is an awesomely funny "Five Times" fic about the people who know about Andy's crush, each segment better than the last.

This fic was written for the first volume of [livejournal.com profile] netcord, a tennis anthology collection. I recommend joining - there are so many riches here. Link to index for Volume 1; there are six volumes to date.

09:56 pm The Choice by Zandra_Court (PG-13)

Fandom: Starsky and Hutch
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch [highlight for possible spoiler: also references to Starsky/Terry, Hutch/OMC]
Length: 6,640 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] zandras_court
Author Website: Zandra_Court at AO3
Why this must be read:

They say the first step in overcoming an addiction is admitting you have one. Okay, I admit it: I'm addicted to post-"Sweet Revenge" fic. Only, I'm not really interested in breaking the habit ;) If you read The Choice you'll see why, even though in some ways, this is not your usual post-SR fare.

All choices have consequences. Once upon a time, Zandra tells us, Hutch makes a choice with regards to his partner that he later comes to regret. Through the use of flashback, Zandra explores the why of Hutch's decision, creating an interesting setting and scenario that I felt was well thought out and executed. I'm choosing not to quote excerpts here, as I think the story is best experienced as it unfolds. I will say, however, that I loved the last scene—not only was the dialogue perfect, but Starsky reveals a choice of his own. Very nicely done.

If you're jonesing for some of the good stuff yourself, just clicky below and get your fix :)

11:44 pm The Boy and the Beast - Dira Sudis (R)
Fandom: TEEN WOLF
Pairing: Derek/Stiles
Length: 116686 words (yes, you read that correctly)
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] dsudis
Author Website: AO3
Summary: In which events in Beacon Hills go rather differently from the start, and a Beauty and the Beast (ish) story ensues. (Scott is not a teacup and no one sings about their feelings.)

Why this must be read: When I got this AO3 notification email, I damn well near hyperventilated. Dira Sudis is one of my favourite authors ever and the fact that she writes Teen Wolf too is a source of everlasting joy for me.

Fair warning: this fic may not be for everyone. For starters, some people don't like epically long stories (or so I hear) and I will explain the other reason under a cut for spoilers )

But for me this fic is a must-read because it features one of my very favourite things in this fandom: A Derek who actually knows what he's doing, and a Scott who doesn't stubbornly fight him at every turn. Besides that, it also creates such a believable feeling of 'pack' that it's almost like you're a part of it yourself, the pacing and characterisations are perfect and it's just. So great, okay. Why aren't you reading it yet?

Stiles held his head and his left arm as still as he could and reached down his body to his pocket. )
